Exclamation BuiltZMotors Darton Sleeved 100mm Motor- engine room preliminary tour

Well, a lot has taken place over the past month, we stepped out motor building up a notch. Before we were working with SPEEDLAB (thanks for all the help guys), having them, assemble the motors here in town, but we needed to expand and move forward to support our demand and make room for our growth.
Thanks for all of the support along the way guys! I have put a lot of effort into this endeavor, to accomplish something that we never had a few years back- A business devoted to soley custom building the VQ35 and having ready-built motors on the shelf, ready to ship the same week to someone in need! We pride ourselves in our customer service and speedy delivery on our custom motor builds.

So, we opened up our own location, we just installed our first lift a few weeks ago, and built a clean room for assembling motors, I wanted to share a few pics, we are still getting everything organized, but I wanted to let everyone know that we have finaly approached the point of being somewhat "caught up". I spent a few hours today assembling a Darton Sleeved shortblock (not sold as of yet, pm me if interested- can ship as soon as this Wednesday!!! ) and will have 3 other non-sleeved motors ready to assemble by the end of this week.

We are located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico (five minutes from Albuquerque), and we are currently not only selling builtZmotors, but also offer motor swaps in-house, so Arizona, Colorado, and Texas, we are your neighbor. PM me for a quote, would be happy to work out package deals.

here's some pics of our setup:

Dedicated to the VQ35

we have a few bearings

Darton SLeeved 100mm 3.8L shortblock going together:

measuring filed rings: (In the Darton Sleeved motor, the rings can be measured without torque plates installed-
Ductile iron cylinders will not distort like the oem aluminum)
With unsleeved blocks, the torque plates are installed when rings are measured, to ensure exact fitment.

Arias ED 100mm pistons and GTM rods: deadly combination

lubing up for the crank install:

calling it a day, rods wil be connected on Wed. ready to ship out to a happy new 3.8L owner...and the best part...NO WAIT!!!

Feel free to pm me for the BEST Motor pricing and availability!

do you guys do in-house balancing or send it off to a shop for it, or do you feel balancing is unnecessary?

I agree totally, I'm just wondering how they go about the balancing, if they balance before assembly or after assembly before shipping?

Looks good! Now you need an engine dyno so you can ship out motors already broken in!

no secret, we try not to have a cookie cutter engine build, rather, we custom build to the customers request..some of our standard platforms that we have in stock:

Shortblock:
Arias ED pistons 9:1 CR
Eagle rods
ARP main studs
crank balanced and polished
Block redecked/ honed with torque plates
rings sized with torque plates
Rev up oil pump

$3450

We really suggest the longblock options, as we sell these fully timed, saving you the extra step (and money) when you get the motor, instead, just swap a few sensors and it is ready to be transplanted

We do not balance in house, that is a step performed by our machinist.

You can run a motor without ANY balancing, but we liek to balance the rotating assembly, as this further ensures a long lasting well performing product

Our process:

-We receive cores...

-we tear down the cores and inspect, everything is checked by our machinist to ensure it is rebuildable, if anything is worn excessively or broken, we of course, replace it.

-parts are cleaned, gasket is removed, sandblasted to restore original appearance (not on gasket surfaces )

-blocks redecked, then torque plates installed, then honed

-cranks cleaned, inspected, then balanced, then polished

-heads disassembled, cleaned, inspected, then sandblasted (glass bead), reassemvbled with new valve stem seals (standard head rebuild, we offer every option available)

-SLEEVING: shortblocks sent out to GT motorsports for sleeve installation (they have the Rotler F-65- best machine for cutting the block for Darton Sleeve install, hands down )

-we clean, recheck all clearances, and assemble the motors in-house, then crate up and ship out!
