Does any setup offer OEM reliability?
A Vortech SC has it own issues, in terms of maintaining the OEM nature of the car. Namely, noise, and belt issues. When you start up a properly setup mild TT system, it will look, sound, and smell exactly like stock. The same can't be said for an SC.
[QUOTE=ANXIOUZ]From my research the Stillen sc seems to have the fewest issues/complaints/blown engines. It's also the least bang-for-buck choice and you have to get a new hood. So there are some tradeoffs.[/QUOTE
tell you the truth all kits have had blown motor the only one i have yet to see is the JWT kit but im sure as more and more people get them if not already someone will blow with that kit as well. Some of it is tuner error some is driver/owner error and some is just plain?

I respect Alberto for recommending a kit other than what he has installed on his car
Just tailing on what he was saying, you'll have general maintenance issues always popping up. Vibrations will cause IC piping to loosen up--you'll get boost leaks... Your car will also make strange noises. You'll hear the fuel pump, flywheel chatter. Too many people mod their car then expect it to still drive and sound like a limo, with the added effect of turbo spool and a BOV. Be prepared to never want a Nissan dealer or Joe Mechanic to touch your car. Too many things can get messed up when they start tinkering.
In my opinion, stick with a kit that has proven out of the box reliability. Have a very good shop do the install. After that, it's all up to for ensuring that the oil is always fresh and any possible issues are brought to shops attention before they become a problem.

1) Jim has the top tuners in the country install them.
2) Majority of them are on Built Motors
3) Not that many kits installed

true, but with the results the kit is getting, it sells itself, you know?

I can count 5 Greddy TT monster dyno's for every 1 JWT monster dyno..
If Greddy had take the same approach that Jim Wolf did, by only letting the top Z tuners in the country install and tune the kit.. everybody would be calling it the safest and best setup.

Superchargers seem to have holes in the power delivery Stillen is stong at low rpm and looses steam, Vortec is all upper rpm boost. None of them deliver all the way through the rpms.
I've read only authorized dealers can install and tune the JWT TT. I'm in Albuquerque New Mexico. I dont think weve got one. What are my options?

the simple answer is no - any build, from a motor, to an aftermarket forced induction to anything in between will not and cannot offer factory reliability levels. However, those looking to build a 500 hp Z are doing it to go on the road less travelled....and at that point, it's more about having a fun toy than a 100% daily driver
^--- Sharif 100% daily drives his fun toy. lol. It must be nice to be the king.
I keep going back and forth between the JWT and Greddy, i have pm'd sharif about this a few times. I know i will want to upgrade later with forged internals and up the boost and he still suggests the JWT for my goals.. a daily beatable 450+rwhp Z car. plus with the 530bb i get more the powerband i like. Hella responsive. But i cant ignore the fact that i live down the street from one of if not the best tuners in the country and he daily's his 600+rwhp Z.and he chose the greddy for his ride. and im not joking.. i have been behind him driving it in the rain which i wouldnt have the ***** to do.

+1 for JWT TT Kit
I have been lucky enough to aquire a spare engine for my Z and WHEN money allows I'll be getting with Sharif and doing a mild engine build and getting the JWT kit. I love tracking my Z and I'm not looking for a drag car. I drive my car every day and I've done my research, the JWT is the kit for me. Oh and Sharif, thanks for moving to Marietta... so close to me... and I'm sure you did it just for me

I'll be happy to answer any questions for you and take you for a ride in my 600hp 350z. My advice for a twin turbo setup would not be the JWT...not that I have anything in particular against the kit, but I have personally run a greddy tt kit for a year and a half, rebuilt the turbos twice, then I switched to an APS twin turbo kit, and it has been flawless! I run a UTEC for engine management (tuned here-by me) and Aquamist water injection for added safety.
Give me a call: 505-480-1923 TODD
How come most people are recommending the JWT TT? Now I’m not trying to figure out why they didn’t chose APS, Greddy..etc, I simpally want to know how come they didn’t recommend a ST. I was told (prob wrong but it made a lil scene to me) that if you have a single turbo the less problems your going to run into if your not looking to get crazy #’s.So can someone please enlighten me and tell me why a TT would be a smarter/safer choice than a ST?
