on my car at 4000 rpms, I think I'm around 4-4.5 lbs of boost - I'd have to double check though
Agreed.

My car starts to pull pretty hard right around that range.

I never had my car w/out all the other mods, so I don't know what kind of power and torque I would have had w/ out all the supporting mods.

Headers are a must my friend. The stock manifolds are pretty bad for a S/C.

You might also want to check the + and - connections on the AUX Fuel Pump. If they are reversed, which is easy to do, the pump will not kick in at approximately 3500 - 4000 rmp. Performs like NA. Really shows up on a dyno or while doing a fuel pressure test.

i'll take a look at it
actually my z is still parked ( shop) they can't find a new belt...
and we're waiting for the pulley (3.12), and motordyne spacer to tune the box.

Take a pic of the pulleys that hold the Vortech ribbed belt. That belt is way chewed up. I want to see if your pulley is in the right order.

Edit: I see it in that last pic. Do you have one thats not so close

Go to Walmart (Just Kidding) and buy a yard stick/ Meter rod - when you place this rod next to the line of the Vortech Pulley's you can see the line is not straight....

The axis of the supercharger is not perpendicular with the drive pulleys..

Have a Local machinist correct the factory problem. Then report your findings back to this Forum...

There have been two ways to fix the vortech drive versa sc mis-alignment problem posted here. Have fun with your search...

Do you have a few Lasers to Confirm? You will find the two axis (drive vs SC axis) will cross at 20 meters out. Is that enough to confirm a bend of the Aluminum mounting bracket deformation or what? No wonder it eats belts.

Cheers -

A Steel Bracket - Might be easiest - Duplicate Aluminum Bracket with a laser cut steel backet. And a shim or two..

There have been wayyyyyyyyyy to many guys with wayyyyyy to many miles driven on this SC kit . To say what your saying . And if the bracket is flexing it isnt going to tear up his belt that fast.

several guys , or shops have forgot to add shims to a pulley or the bracket , or on the wrong side of either . That would more than likely be your problem

u think its caused by the ss box is badly wired?

Alot of people I talk to about wiring ecu's buy a extended harness so if they run into problems they just plug old harness in to see if its a wiring problem.

Hey Xav... I am glad you got alot of your stuff worked out bro...

From your pictures they jumped a rib when they put your belt on and it was overlaping on the bracket side. Your freying on the belt was from the belt rubbing on a couple of the screws... I grinded down a couple of those a bit for more clearance.

GET A TUNE
