the gas is 94 oct, i'm running 12 timing going up to 16 at redline (which i can never make up to because of these misfires lol)

the knock sensor is hooked up to listen for audible knock but there is a problem with my tuner pro (just like all my other TXS products) that no sound is coming out from the headphones when i plug them in. knock sensitivities are all in specs. What do you mean by utec sensing knock but not registering? shouldnt i see it in the log file if there was a knock ?

thanks a lot for all the inputs btw.

today i've made a few runs to see if i can change anything about the misfire issue.

I've tried running with higher than normal timings (15 rising till 19 at redline) but it didnt help. Then I've tried lower than normal timings (9 rising to 12 at redline ) which didnt help either.

Keeping an eye on the AEM WB which is way much faster than TXS, I've seen that, AFRs suddenly peak to 12.5 while this misfire thing is happening. I can not see this in Tuner logs as it's not fast enough. I'm not sure if the misfire is causing the WB to read lean or is it really lean. I've tried adding lots of fuel on that area (25ms) but the AFRs were still 12.5 during misfires.

Any new ideas?

This may be a dumb question...

But have you made sure that you don't have a boost limiter set to low in the UTEC?

When you misfire does the utec show any knock? It sounds like you and me have similar problems. But I don't have a built block and I get knock all over not just on top.

Before you did the heads and cams, were you running high boost (13-15psi) with the same Utec you have now? OR were you running lower boost before. Just trying to understand the entire scenario.

Basically want to see if the UTEC didnt have any issues with high boost before the new heads/cams.

yes i was able to run 0.9 bar (something like 13 psi i guess) before heads and cams were in.

No it doesnt show any knock. I've decreased the knock sensitivity to make sure that utec isnt retarding timing or something but still the problem isnt gone.

I think i'm gonna order and try new coils.
If that doesnt solve it for me, i'll try the stock cams but aparting the engine once more is a pita .

I'm working on it. I just retuned last nite but I have a few issues to work out. So far the sputtering has stopped. But power fell off at the top. Can't figure that out yet.

i'm located in east europe - turkey.

how did u manage to stop the sputtering?

can bad coils be the cause of my problem ? I've inspected the coils but couldnt see any visible signs of a bad coil on them.

Any luck yet? I am just going to throw this out there. You said your plugs are gapped to .065mm. Is that a little too close? As far as I can recall, stock gap is around .040" or 1.02mm. I've experimented with gap on my past turbo cars, and found at .86mm gap to work really well. Good luck.

no luck yet. I'm gonnna try throwing in new coil packs but I doubt if that will help at all coz the coils have no sign of being blown on them. I think I'm gonna part out and sell this car if I can't find out whats wrong with it.

I think close gap lowers power but has less chance for misfire but I'm not 100% sure of that so I'll be trying somewhere close to 0.85 gap for the plugs too.

Would it be risky to try stock plugs with my current setup ? would i break anything?

I think that the stock plugs are too high of a heat range for your setup. Hopefully Sharif checks this thread.

If I remember correctly aps recomends a gap of .035. If the gap is to big you can blow out the spark.
