It could be a daily driver, but I dont really drive it that much in the winter. When I do drive it daily, it's bumper to bumper city driving and the car functions fine. I do however plan on getting set of dedicated snows/wheels and it will be driven about 1x per week this winter (rain, snow, cold).

I got bout 7K miles on my Z but the Turbonetics kit been installed since October 2005. This is my only car

Low milage due to me living in Hawaii and 2 miles from work. No problems with the Reflash running 11.0-1 WOT. I havent gotten on my Z too much but I've been starting to stretch it out more lately. I should just say screw it and BOOST like a mad man but I guess "punish_her" car needs to be done first so when I break it I can take his bay at sonic's....lol

Yeah I think it has a name tag and every thing. Its a solid fixture over there. Between the turbo w/ other parts and the engine being put it its got almost 3 months and counting total in the yard over there.

I dont do verry many miles on the car for 2 reasons 1) Hawaii and 2) my job.
I bought it the day before I left FL and put 4K miles on it in 2 weeks driving to San Angelo Texas with visits to San Antonio every weeked. I had right at 10K when the engine was yanked, so thats 6K miles in 2 years. 2K miles were on the turbo's. No real issues except the injectors were too big to scale back so I was running WAY rich. Oh and the crappy Greddy banjo's.

surprised that there aren't more SC Z's that people have as daily drivers. Aren't these more reliable than the ST and TT's?

I drove mine everyday until my job required too many miles a week.

After the man tunes my twins again, I would not hesitate to drive everyday, even with the new found power!!! I really trust Sharif's tunes to be reliable and safe.

In all, I would have to say if you are going to drive you FI car everyday or use it as you sole source of transportation, you need to have a great tune, nothing out of the box, personally speaking.

Craig

I've been running my Z every day with 20K of that with a Procharger. Rain or shine, I drive it to work.

I drove my Greddy TT with the out of the box tune with no timing harness for about 15k miles. Just because I did that doesn't mean I would recommend it to anyone. I think the key to that success and the only reason I did it was because the lowest octane gas that ever went in my car was 93 and the out of the box tune was sub 10:1 AFR rich. If I lived in Cali or somewhere where 91 is the norm, I highly doubt I would have gotten away with it. With that being said, I completely agree with craig....a good tune is well worth the added security and I wouldn't trust anything else.
