If you watch there dyno on the 427 turbo dyno its say 1000 on pump gas and 1500 on 109 octane. This also on a engine dyno lose the 15% drivetrain and all the 427 streetable would be approx. 850rwhp. so I would guess there streetable big block is no more then 1000rwhp on a car with street pump gas. ligifelter (spelling) has 1038rwhp 427 dynos All these numbers are impressive but I just can't stand it when someone says I have a 2000 hp street car. Please put it on a dyno with pump gas and pull this number and I will believe it.

my bosses viper maxed out a 1500rwhp dynojet on 93 octane pump gas, hows that? its not exactly a street car tho, because it has a crazy roll cage for landspeed racing. other than that, sure, you could drive it on the street just the same.

street car is a pretty vague definition. if the car isnt pleasant to cruise, its a race car (to me).

I am not sayin that 1500 is not achievable. just there definition of a street car. Like you said it is not exactly a street car though.Your definition and my definition are pretty close when it comes to a street car. The only high HP car that I have ever driven that I would call it a street car was a 820rwhp ligifelter kit vette that 21st century muscle cars build and it idle just as it was stck and drove that way, but when you got on it it was like holly **** this thing does not need to be on the streets. that car in the vid is not considered a street car in my book.

Anything where you're roastin' the tires in 4th or 5th from a 75mph roll on would definitely be considered NON-street to me... The definition of a street car varies depending on who you're talking to. IMO, having a 1000 hp car on the streets is just plain stupid. Yes, you can turn down the boost and run a pump gas map. But if that's all you want out of the car, why build it up to that level to begin with? Because you can? I don't see a need to waste $$$ on a project that never gets to live at it's full potential.

I've always maintained that mid-500 to mid-600 is the sweet spot on the VQ for maintaining a street car. Hell, any car at that level is plenty given common road conditions...

As always guys, just my

Wow. Although it looks like there is no cage in this supposed 2000hp car.

IMO 500whp properly set-up makes for one fun/fast street driven Z. I almost never have the urge to switch to high boost, low boost keeps me happy, puts the power down most of the time and I have yet to lose....
