Default Turbo Timers

I remember awhile back I read that one guy said he installed a turbo timer, but when he left the car that you could lock it with the remote, but it would not activate the alarm. You would have to wait until the car turned off to hit the lock button again to alarm the car.

What is the current update on this? Has someone figured away around this, or did he do something wrong?

I normally just leave it on, lock it, and usually my parking is still within the range of my remote, I'd lock it again to activate alarm... Our remote actually has a surprising range...

I lock mine with the remote when I get out of the car. It seems that my alarm still arms after the ignition shuts off because I came back to test it after I did the install and the alarm worked.

mine does. I think a lot of people assume that it does not arm, but I think it arms 30-60 seconds after ignition is turned off. (as I noted, I tested this myself and the alarm went off)

Hmmm I guess its possible. I never tried waiting for a period of time after I locked the car via the key fob. I tried within 15-30 seconds after the car shut off. I'll have to try it again tomorrow.

well then whats the difference between locking the doors w/ the key fob when the turbo timer is on, and locking the doors with the door lock button inside the car without a turbo timer? Both dont give beeps, so does that mean it doesnt arm the alarm?

I don't know. I know with the motor off hitting the lock button on the key fob locks the doors and arms the alarm. With the motor running it locks the doors but doesn't arm (at least immediately) the alarm. I need to try what USN HM said...
