Default Puff of Blue Smoke at Startup!

Its light blue. Checked the oil and it was down maaaybe 1/2 a quart. My car sits for long periods of time between starts [usually 5-7 days, sometimes 2 weeks depending on weather]. Never noticed this before. Wonder if I can get the engine replaced under oil consumption if I take the SC off... they already did my tranny though... EEK!

Oh, just changed my sparkplugs too. They were alittle black, but looked fine. Electrodes were in good shape- just covered in nice carbon shell :P

That's pretty shady. People who would do such a thing are the reason dealers give car enthusiasts a hard time about modifications.

Could be the valve stem seals.

typically, a puff of blue smoke on start up is from worn valve stem seals.

A representative of NNA has probably already read this thread and informed all Nissan repair shops to be in the lookout for your exact car...

Color: Graphite Grey Trim Level:
Premium Biography:

"ProCharger . UTEC . Top Secret . KenStyle . GReddy . Ro_Ja . SGP Racing ."

Be careful, because what you are attempting to do could get you in a lot of trouble...

When a dealer contacts Nissan for the ok and to get a replacement engine shipped they are asked if there are or were or shows signs that any mods were previously done to car.

If they lie and get caught after the engine is torn down at Nissan Lab then dealers get backbilled. Usually a Nissan Zone Engineer drops by to view the potential engine replacement car, then gives the ok in person.

Few dealers LOVE you enough to risk their money.

OMG, I'm not trying to turn this into huge battle, I already talked with a shop about a rebiuld. But on the other hand, I don't wanna tear into it if its just something wrong with the PCV. Is there a sure way to tell?

Come on now. How many times have you heard of the dealer stiffing a customer. Besides, its just the dealer stiffing the dealer. lol.

It depends on the dealer. Some dealerships are booked constantly with voluntary service (maybe that makes more money for them than warranty work?).

Just because they're getting paid for warranty service doesn't mean they are always willing to do it.

Come on now. How many times have you heard of the dealer trying to make up a bullsh1t excuse for denying a warranty claim?

Every dealer is different.
