Anyone close to PA want to swap my 3.5 pumpkin for a 3.3
I have a 03 AT and I was wondering if any of you guys are interested in doing this. I live in Reading PA so I was hoping to find someone who wants to do this in the PA, NJ, NY area. PM me if anyone is interested.
This is what I was told.................
The AT's come with taller gears. The pumpkin (rear differential) can be switched with one from a manual Z. Basically, what it all boils down to is this:
Manuals have a 3.3 gear pumpkin
Autos have 3.5 gear pumpkin
Most people that go FI, want the taller gears so they can stay in boost longer. Most people that have auto's that are NA want to get the 3.3 gearing because their car shifts faster, which gets them into their faster gears soon which = faster trap speed.

you got that mixed around man, the 3.3 which are on the AT's, are longer, the 3.5 gears which are shorter than the AT's, are the 6MT's, and then you got the 3.9's that alot of NA guys go for to get better acceleration. Ill be willing to do a swap with you man, with my new setup, i got no traction in my first or second gears, and some of third if im goin hard enough.

Your backwards, you were given wrong information, check here and Nissan's website, all autos have the 3.3 and all manuals have the 3.5!
I am looking to swap for some 3.5 gears because I am N/A and need the acceleration off the line! My car is a 2004.5 looking for an identical year or later as I heard the 03 rears have some differences in the bushings or something.
