Yeah, I don't like them either. Not to mention they have blew up so many car, including mind. And they even admit to some of it. However never blame on their shop but always blame it on the owner.
And yeah they're popular because most Z/G car owner really don't anywhere else to go in the bay. I personally found a great shop that work on all my cars now. The EVO, MR2 and 350z…. The shop is call Full Function in Union City Ca.
I’ve seen so many ZCG and SP cars come to them to get issue fix. They have fix many of my issue with the Z.
Just from experience and a friendly advice, I would avoid them…

I live in West Central Wisconsin (La Crosse Area) and had a difficult time finding a tuner in my area. When I did, he did an excellent job! Not a Z-Specialist, but he is a meticulous engineer who is a tuning expert. So, if you are looking to get your FI Z tuned in this part of the country I would call:
