That's kinda my rule of thumb... And if it squeels at start up for more than a cpl seconds turn the tensioner bolt one turn till it stops.

I ordered it from Vortech Monday, they said it should get shipped Tuesday and get to me by Thursday. It's Sat and still no belt....

I guess I have to keep driving my wife's car, but this is bs. I can't believe belt gets stripped in ~1.5 years. IS that thing even covered under warranty?

Can I drive the car without the belt safely, as long as I drive really really low RPMs?

Don't be to quick to blame Vortech on the slow shipping... I do alot of shipping for my business and shipped out a package to a customer on Monday along with 5 other orders. 4 of the orders made it to their destination in 2-4 days and one customer did not get thiers and it was not even scanned into the system for tracking by the post office for some reason so I could not follow the progress of the package. I then called USPS to see if they could locate it and all they did was look up the TR number and tell me what I already knew... UGH...

This was for a Christmas present for her husband and son and so Friday I told her I would send her a new order and express mail it to her at no charge since it was of no fault of her own and no one knew where her package was at... So this morning I dropped it off at the post office for her so it would go out in the early pick up... Well, wouldn't you know... She emailed me and told me her first order finally showed up this afternoon... (lol) ... I sent it out Monday 2-3 day priority mail and it shows up 6 days later with absolutely no tracking updates in the computer... I told her just to keep the 2nd order I shipped out today as a Christmas present to her...

So I would not blame Vortech for the lateness... It's probably the post office, especially this time of year...

I understand re timing of year. Sounds like you're a very conscientious seller. They said specifically that it should take two days, otherwise I would have spent the extra $$ for overnight or two day guarantee. I'm sure it'll show up Monday or Tuesday.. But I feel now that I should call and make sure they actually sent the thing. Not sure why they don't automatically send me a tracking number since it's going via UPS..
