Need some direction....
If you have read the thread on my supercharger project you know that I am going to be doing a v-mount setup on my car and I need some help on the radiator. Since many of you have read about what I am doing I wanted to post this in the FI section.
I am in the process of designing the radiator so that I can get it made but the flow and orientation are what I need help on.
So far I am looking at doing a double pass 2 core radiator with vertical flow (down from inlet and around and up to outlet near thermostat). However I would like the inlet and the outlet to be on top. Since it is a double pass there is no issues with this in regards to keeping a flow in one direction. However, is there any concerns with the outlet being the same height or slighlty higher than the thermostat?
Also is there any issues with me having the pressure relief (i.e. the radiator cap) somewhere else other than the radiator such as spliced into a hose via an aluminum filler neck/coupler?
Thanks in advance.

I used a VW Siricco radiator in my 2.3turbo merkur. I bought one of those inline caps from jegs. It worked fine. It kept it cool and i ran 20psi of boost. The engine made around 350+whp and had no problems staying cool. I used a porsche 944 intercooler above the radiator so it was not restriced in anyway from airflow. The only problem with using one is its a pain to fill it up.

Thank you for the info. I am going to contact the company that I have had make me rediators in the past and talk to them about it. I think that I am going to buy my intercooler at the end of this month and put that in so I can see how much room I have in order to determine the outlet/inlet direction and location.

Lindsey Racing can modify a porsche 944 intercooler for 500whp for 350$ or so. These units are compact and do not take up much room. You guys have a 944 at 928 motorsports heh, see if that intercooler will be the size you need. Once you get the end tanks redone its a great intercooler for the price.
