Default Supercharge or Turbo with AT?

Did Anyone try to put a turbo or supercharge on the Z with AT? My Z is AT, I am curious to know if the AT can handle Turbo or supercharger...?

neither, trade in the car for a six spd manual and then TT it. If you have to keep the Auto, I would run a ST or TT at a max 360 hp

why not just install a MT and have both a AT and MT in your car at the same time. while you're at it, install both a supercharger and twin turbos and have button installed that allows you to switch between the two. let us know how it goes. GG

If you had a manual, I'd be more inclined to say get a turbo or stillen where you might be more likely to hang out in the lower powerband by staying in a higher gear

the auto kinda works out well for the ATI or vortech IMO because when you floor it, you're immediately in the higher boost of the powerband. I suppose running a turbo wouldn't be horrible, but people have had weird looking dynos with autos and they're harder to tune on the dyno with a turbo.

Answers to your questions, 1) yes and 2) it depends. This has been discussed many times so feel free to do a search and you'll find lots of helpful information.

I have a TT on mines bone stock till this date and no problems (knock on wood). In a sense I have found that the AT does not give as much problems as the manual does. And by the way don’t listen to allot of people on this subject to many AT haters. Do your research and if you have any question you are welcome to ask also roncfpz is a knowledgeable AT owner. Just to help you out the weakness in the AT tranny is 3rd and 4th the clutch packs are crappy. Also SGP just fully built the tranny so if you want to be secure and run badass times get a TT and do the tranny. And like i said to many At haters as you can see already in this thread.

Turbo in an AT

Advantage: No Loss of boost between shifts.
Disadvantage: Can't keep the revs up that easily.

Supercharger

Advantage: More Boost from the get go.
Disadvantage: Less power than Turbo Kits.

So does it mean that I wont damage the tranny by installing the Turbo kit given that I found the one designe for it? Do you guys know if nismo exhaust is a good match with any turbo or supercharger kit?

Your transmission is not going to last as long but if you end up putting 400 whp or a bit less you should be fine with the stock AT tranny if you want to do upgrades to the tranny go ahead. And best bet is a 2.5 inch true dual exhaust.

AT is a better platform for FI for low speed launches etc... gearing is much better suited for high power applications. a torque converter and a valve body upgrade for crisp shifts and you're good to go. people who blantly claims MT is better don't know what the hell they're talking about. 350z AT is a better tranny than the MT, IMO.. stock tranny for the MT isn't all that great.

+1
the standard 6 speed's gear ratios are kinda messed up. 1st gear is way too short, and the gears don't last very long. It's a lot of shifting when you're racing, which slows you down. The 5AT also weighs a little less than the 6MT and when you upgrade it, it doesn't become harder to drive like a 6MT might if you got a really light flywheel

The only problem with the 5AT's gearing is the distance between 3rd and 4th gear being too wide.

I like manually shifting, and the Z's transmission feels better than a lot of other cars, but it's also worse than certain cars too.

No, it does not mean that all. Adding the turbo kit will more than likely increase the stress on the internals of the trans. As a precaution and to minimze potential problems you should upgrade the valve body and torque converter and add another trans cooler if possible.
