Default Leaded fuel

I just wanted to know if it was ok to run leaded gas in my car. I dont have cats in so wouled this be a problem? The reason I ask this is because I live in a aeronautical community and we have a self service gas station which has 110 octane gas, which people use in the planes. The gas is only 2.50 a gallon, because we buy directly from a Chevron distributor.

Thanks
Josh

you won't use the full 110, so you may as well cut it with 1/3 93 or 94 octane, It will keep the heat down a bit

try a marina, quality boat gas is 99.5 octane and they pay no road tax, just need gas cans to get it.

Its fine, but it will foul your wide band sensor quickly

Like sean mentioned Id mix it with pump. Unleaded fuel will cause your 02 sensors/widebands to fail faster, but occasionally running the stuff or throwing a splash in with a tank full (remember we have 20 gallon tanks) would be ok.

Xylene is 118 octane. You can buy it in bulk for around 3.00$ or so a gallon.

Will this mess with the O2 sensors as well? Why does the race fuel mess up the O2 sensors? Is it just specifically our cars or in general??????

It's all cars' 02 sensors. I suggest you not mess with xylene. Find toluene if anything, but it, too, dissolves your paint (and skin, driveway, etc.) quite efficiently.

the best lie the devil ever told

the higher the octane, the lower temp and slower it burns, thats y u need higher octane to resist detonation, detonation occures when fuel ignites when its not supposed to, in other words when its easier for it to burn (higher octane burning slower) and easier for it to ignite (higher octane burning at a lower temp) why do u think ur egt's are lower when u run race fuel than when u run pump gas

Can you get your hands on 100 oct unleaded? I've been looking for a place by us to get it. The only place is sunoco on 45th st and austrailian @ 6.99 per gal for c16. Yes you can burn out your o2 sensors if you run it to often.

Lead "poisons" O2 sensors, wideband AND narrowband. It cuts the life down from 80,000 mi to about 5,000-15,000 miles. NOt a real option.

Replacesing the sensors isn't cheap. The primaries are not that easy to get to, but still pretty manageable (just not on jackstands).
