Default Anyone using the AAM throttle body spacer for water/meth injection?

The title says it all. I'm just wondering if its working for anyone. I'd prefer to see the ports be more angled to aid in the spray direction but with the pressurized air it shouldn't be an issue I wouldn't think.

Just curious as to why you would inject the meth into the TB spacer and not directly into the intake or plenum itself?

Its just a place to do it. I'm just wondering if its been done. The charge piping would work but it would require some metal work on the charge piping and I personally don't want to ruin the black chrome anodizing on my charge piping for that and others won't either. You could inject directly into the plenum but again it would involve drilling a hole and threading it. Sure that can be easily done in my garage. I'm just wondering if you wouldn't still have to do it near the throttle body neck to make sure the atomized charge is properlly distributed to all cylinders. I was just thinking that if you inject immediately after the throttle body the atomized charge would follow the air ditribution naturally and disperse between all the cylinders as the air does anyways. Like I said just a thought on something that would make installing this easily.

Yes AAM makes one: http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5...de=350Z_INTAKE

I'm thinking I could just screw in the jet provided on the Spearco WIS kit into one of the ports on that TB spacer if its the same thread pitch. If its not I'll just re-drill/re-tap it if needed. http://www.turboneticsownersclub.com/viewtopic.php?t=37

Makes perfect sense to me. There is someone on the board who just blew up his ST Z after 2 years of having the kit. He was making 450whp or so, and it was mentioned that he had a meth/water injection kit. I wonder if he had this setup. I really like the idea, and am surprised that more FI Z owners dont choose to use it. It just seems like so many other cars use it.

I would think the farther away from the TB you place the nozzle, the better it would atomize, plus have more time to cool the intake charge..

I actually would think the opposite. The higher velocity of air at the throttle body (due to all the compressed air being forced through one smaller volume opening) would provide better atomization/dispertion then it would if you injected into the larger volume plenum where the velocity of the air would have decreased. Although theortically all the air in the plenum is pressurized also so the velocity might technically be the same but somehow I think my theory on that as off. Of course this is all just my thoughts on it and I could be way off but it seems to me its the age old garden hose analogy. Increased pressure coming into and out of a smaller diameter opening would have a higher velocity then when it finally enters a much larger volume tank (plenum). If I was trying to mix in food coloring (analogy of course) I would spray it in with the water coming into and out of the smaller diameter opening (read hose end) as it should mix better then if I sprayed it into the jug (plenum) holding the water. Like I said just a thought but I might be off on that.

I don't think it will fit our TN kits. It changes the angle the whole intake will be at. Looks more like a N/A tool.

If it fits I would buy one as I need extra ports.

It
lt should fit just fine. The Turbonetics kit would be no different in this regard to any other kit. It doesn't change the angle it just moves the throttle body out a little bit. I installed a MD 5/16" spacer with no problem. I had to rotate the last pipe a little bit and the coupler did stretch in that direction a little but it works just fine.
Pics of my car with the spacer installed:

Adding this would just move the throttle body out a little bit and I gurantee there's enough play to make this work. Worst case you cut a strip off the silicone coupler the width of the spacer and it would be the exact same overall lenght as before.
