I'm not putting anything on that requires a new hood, no matter how much HP it makes
Besides, I don't want to jack up my warranty just yet
I'm still hoping that Vortech makes a centrifugal supercharger for the 350Z.

There's no room in the engine bay for a centrifugal charger.

remember that a turbocharger is just another type of supercharger... there will be room for a centrifugal, although whether or not it's better than a turbo remains to be seen. I was more interested in a screw type supercharger b/c it doesn't put as much strain on your engine, but yeah, now way I'm losing my sway bar and putting in a new hood just so I can get a crappy 70-80 hp from stealin. In my personal opinion vortech is crap and always overestimates their numbers, I'm more of a fan of procharger, and I'm waiting to see what they come out with. For me, it's between a procharger centrifugal supercharger or the Nismo twin turbo. If I'm going to risk my engine w/ turbos, I'd want the warranty that Nismo would give.

A turbocharger is not another "type" of a supercharger. Yes, they're both forced induction, but the turbo uses the exhaust gases and the supercharger uses the belt. Where they're positioned are also in completely different areas. The turbo is able to fit in there because there is space where the stock headers are. For the supercharger, there is absolutely no room in front of the motor to fit a centrifugal supercharger, unless of course you want the centrifugal supercharger to stick up above the hood which wouldn't be a good idea.

Austin350Z is correct in his statement that turbocharing is a type of supercharging.
I've read the books and the dictionary. A Supercharger is a device used to increase pressure in an internal combustion engine.
There are two ways to achieve this. Mechanically driven compressor, and exhaust drive turbine. BOTH are in the true defintion 'Superchargers'.
It is true that now the term Supercharger is loosly defined as the mechanical compressor, and turbo is the exhaust driven turbine, but he is still correct.
