Default SVRT Engine Build - APS TT - Pics Inside

The time has finally come to turn my 2006 base model Z into a West Coast monster. My original goal was to achive 500WHP, anything beyond that is just icing on the cake. Some of the parts going into this build are as follows...

Arias ED Pistons
HKS Gasket
Pauter Rods
Custom 1/2" SVRT Head Studs
ARP Main Studs
APS Plenum
APS TT Kit
SVRT Custom Dual 3" Exhaust
Stoptech 14" BBK F&R
Stance Coilovers
UTEC w/Map Selector
Defi Gauges (Fuel/Water/Oil/EGT/Boost)
Innovate Wideband
Blitz Boost Controller
RC 650cc Injectors
Custom SVRT Fuel Return System
ATS Twin Carbon Clutch/Flywheel (SS Clutch lines)
NGK Two Step Colder Plugs
Volk LE37 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 (+22)
Tons more that escapes me at the moment...

So far, I must thank Scott at SVRT for the fantastic work. Much thanks also goes to Sharif and Sam from GTM for their advise and great help in making this project go as smoothly as it has so far (knock on wood)...

Here are some preview pics that I've taken during the build process...

Suspension and brakes looking nice...

The organization of an engine builder is fascinating to me...

Volks hiding some serious stopping power underneath...

Let me introduce the custom SVRT 1/2" head studs which allow nearly double the "pull out" strength of the popular L19s along with over 15% more torque potential...

Here is a "before" porting shot and you can see the thickness of the divider...

And here is a poor quality "after" shot where it has been ported and smoothed down for more ideal air flow potential...

Tried to get a side by side comparison of before (right) and after (left) so you can see the differences...

...and a sneak peek at the near completed block...

Now for some gauge pictures, the idea was to retain OEM looks while retaining that "sleeper" look...

From my understanding, LEs are identical to TEs except they have polished lips.

Hey Scott its been a while, last I heard you were not realy doing too much Z stuff since your construction company is requiring most of your attention lately. I have some questions about the exhaust you used to make. PM me your number again or call me.

+1!!!

For those curious, Arias actually sent the wrong sized rings with their Extreme Duty piston set. After calling up Sharif, hardly an explanation was needed and a new set was headed out our way. It is becoming almost monotonous to hear all the pro-Forged threads but there is a good reason behind them! The piston problem along with a couple other "favors" that I'll leave out of this thread re-affirm my belief that their customer service is second to none!

Thanks for all the nice comments so far! Right now we are at a slight delay due to the pistons, but the hope is to begin cracking again once they arrive. At the end of this month I will be headed down to GTM Motorsports for the final tune and I will keep this thread alive until we get some final numbers, etc
