There has been a few bumps in the road, but Jeremy @ Performance Factory has done nothing but help assist and take care of the problems completely and has qualities you don't find in many shops.

Your build is comming alone really good, when are you expecting to get her back up and running?

 

Thanks guys, she should be running very soon. I'll post up a full write up with dyno/pics/videos once shes ready to go.

 

Is Jeremy tuning the UTEC as well? What made you choose the UTEC over the FCON Pro at your assumed power levels, out of curiosity?

 

Jeremy is going to have blast tuning it.

As you know, you have to be a HKS PRO dealer to tune and sell the FCON unit.

The UTEC should be fine, I know jeremy is going to tune it as safe as he can, he knows that software very well. We'll just have to see how much the UTEC can give me. If I can just get close or hit about 600rwhp on the UTEC on pump 93 I'll be a happy camper.

 

Then I am definitely going to stay tuned for this one! Can't wait for the finished product and numbers

Are you planning on running multiple maps?

 

Not a problem.

Yea for now low boost map and high boost map. Maybe later one a race gas map.

 

The problem with the UTEC isn't making power, you can make power with just about any decent EMS, but rather its about drive-ability, transition into boost, being able to drive like OEM at partial boost, etc. Don't get me wrong the UTEC is a good unit, there are a few things we don't like about it but the way it controls timing is better than say a unichip or emanage, BUT it is not to be compared to say a AEM, Vpro, or MoTeC EMS.

Thanks for the kind words George. The closest Vpro tuner would be Sharif only a state away. Maybe if Mr. Sharif can get me a good pricing on the Fcon and tune I might just make a trip up there in the near future.

 

For that build, you are cutting corners by not running the Fcon. You are looking at 18 lbs of boost with a Utec that has limited resolution. Like George says, I am sure you will hit the big HP, but getting to that point might be jerky and with a few hiccups.

Suck it up; spend the needed money and get a proper EMS for your application

Lets not make this into a UTEC Vs. Fcon debate we all know how much you love fighting.

 

Cant wait to see what it does after you got it all tuned and ready to go. Im sure there will be some good videos comeing are way very soon =D I cant wait to hear the dual HKS BOVs should sound sweet.
