Proper EMS and tune shouldn't have to be retuned unless you change something. Change oil every 3K just like when I was N/A

Pretty informative.

Why do you change your oil at 3K...All new cars are switching to a 7500 mile schedule, which is still too often.
If somebody can explain why a E55 can do 15-20K a 911 C4S 20K on their oil and we can't squeak out over 3K...I'm listening. And I'm not talking about the POS oil that comes in a cheap car.

Edit:
And all new cars aren't switching to 7500 mile intervals. I have been car shopping for two weeks - mother in law bought a new Altima and my good buddy bought a new Focus - (looked at ford fusions, ford focus, nissan sentra, versa, altima, maxima, murano, mazda 3,6, cx7, dodge caliber, subaru impreza, toyota corolla, etc, tec) - most are recommending 3500 or 5000 mile intervals. It might be my climate is considered extreme or harsh compared to cali or other souther states

I'll have to search it out, but it was on the news that they are going from a recommended 3K schedule to a 7.5K schedule (which is what most people fall into even in the manual today).

Also, those extended intervals still require a few filter changes. I am not aware of filters desgined to work for than 10K miles...maximum..do you know of any?
