Default Vortech 3.12 + Exhaust + GRD Tune = H3ll ya!

When we first put on the Vortech, we had completely stock exhaust. We used the stock Vortech pulley. It performed ok, but we were looking for more..

We went with high-flow cats, Greddy Evo2 cat-back, and the 3.12 Vortech pulley, tuned by Tuan @ GRD yesterday. Still using the Split Second box.

Results - 378 rwhp, 320 tq SAE on a Dynapack dyno. This is a 2004 Touring 5AT.

The car pulls amazing (especially in the 27 degree Chicago weather)

Thanks to the GRD crew.

We didn't bring a video camera, but did snap a few pics. I'll try to get them up tonight.

He couldn't complete a full before run, it was way too lean. When we first got the car (brand new completely stock), it put down 220 on a dynojet. Tuan said a stock 04 5AT usual puts down around 210 on their Dynapack.

With the stock exhaust and pulley, we had 318 on Sharif's I believe.

Hard to compare different dyno's on different days.

True..My first dyno was on a Mustang dyno . At the time I had already done headers , RT cats , plenum , and the STillen exhaust . It just made 220whp . I believe the Mustang dyno to probably be the lowest reading dyno . Ive heard of stock AT5 cars doing 190whp on it .
You and the wife have fun with it at the track !

Nice work..I am glad you found a tuner closer to your home...at least a little bit closer! That is definately a power improvement you can FEEL with those extra mods and boost!

Is the trans shifting OK?

If slow = ok...

I'm calling you tomorrow to order up the valve body upgrade. It is going in a local shop on Tuesday to pull it.

Looks good! I'm doing the 3.12 + Stillen TD upgrade when I get back. I'm at 340 rwhp/ 310 ft/lb with the 3.33 on GRD's dyno right now
