Default Vortech Tuning Blues...

Hey guys,
I've been working on fine-tuning my fuel and spark maps lately, and I've noticed a curious phenomenon. I tuned Map A in 3rd gear in such a way that AFRs ramped up from the high 12s at low boost to high 11s at max boost which is where they should be. Now the weird thing is that in 4th and 5th gear, AFRs go from mid-10s at low boost to high-11s at max boost, so not only do AFRs get richer, but the AFR curve has the opposite shape now. Now, can anybody tell me
a) why AFRs are getting RICHER in the higher gears when they should be getting leaner, and
b) why the shape of the AFR curve changes completely....

I've also heard from people that the WOT AFR curve changes with time, given the same Map A programming. Its too soon to draw solid conclusions, but my AFRs are drifting about a little... What's the deal here?

On a completely unrelated note, what do you guys think of Megan Headers on a Vortech'd Z? Worth it or not? Thanks, I'd really appreciate your input guys!

It all depends on the cell you are in [ in the map ] and the rpm you are at , at the same time . With the R4 to tune it perfectly , it needs to be done on a dyno and be done over different loads and rpms .

I basicly do 3rd gear runs at WOT up a small inclined road . So there is a little bit of load on the motor . When self tuning on the street and the limited amount of tuning you can do with the R4 . Thats about the best you can do .
