Default APS Owners: UTEC?

Hey Guys, just ordered my APS TT kit. What i was wondering, i have Turbo XS UTEC already, i want to use it to tune my car. Is this a good idea? The Guy at Z1 says i need to use the UNI Chip the kit comes with. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

Thats what I'm saying...Go with the UTEC and I doubt very many people will say to use the Unichip over the UTEC.

If your not planning on running bigger injectors and going much over the limits of the stock APS kit, I'd stick with unichip.

Im running UTEC on my car, its good, nothing bad to say about it particularly. Dont spend money for the sake of it. Unichip works perfectly well for the standard kit. And includes boost control.

Utec is not needed, the Unichip works fine with the kit, the only reason shops will tell you to switch is because they can't tune the Unichip but if they can it will do the job just fine.

I already have the UTEC, so no extra purchases. Im also at high altitude which makes me lean out more then usual. Do you still think the UNIchip tuned for sea level will work as good as a tuned UTEC at altitude?

I also have a really good UTEC tuner close by, no unichip tuners.

wooo!! aps tt. hot . congrats

anyways andrew i think you should keep the utec and tune it with the APS TT. because for safety reasons and because our altitude and such. anyways you said you were probably going built later on and so your going to need an EM for that.

just sell the unichip

let me know when you install it

well that makes your decision, no tuners in the area for Unichip, anything tuned where you will use it is better, then go with the Utec.

if you do plan to upgrade persay with a built block and beyond, i say switch to the utec later with the boost and MAP modules.

yea, sounds like UTEC is better, since i already have it. If i didn't have it, i'd use the UNIchip. I'd really like to talk to an APS owner using UTEC to see how it works for them....
