Default Boost, i looked already

Just wondering about boost:can u change the psi on the fly, say if u had a map set for 8psi and another for 12psi,can u change it with a press of a switch? or do u have to retune every time?sorry if this is a dumb Q i'm new.
cheers

I dont know about turbo'd Zs, but I figure it would be the same. In my car if you have the map you can do it on the fly. If not, it just take a laptop and a USB cable....plug it into the Engine Management System and you can play with the boost, etc. Takes about 5 minutes or so.

I have a utec and I was told by my tuner that I can switch it on the fly but not to under heavy accelleration and under a certain rpm. I don't remember the rpm though.

You definitely can. We often install a switch on the AEM cars we tune to either add timing, change boost etc.. This way if you normally run pump gas, and throw some race gas in, you can simply use the switch instead of loading another map.

The short answer is 'yes'.

The long answer would involve things like choosing the right engine management/boost controller/turbo kit etc.
