Well, ill be in the club one day. Ive been reading about the vortech kit. I was on edge with picking the stillen after seeing/hearing Reptile's kit at Zdayz but dont want a new hood.
My power goal: 325whp for now, maybe a second map to max the potential of the kit
my plans for the kit: Itll be a self install and then limped to a tuner.
1. Vortech tuner kit in satin <installed>
2. Utec <installed>
3. Aps 440cc injectors<installed>
4. Utec map sensor <installed>
5. innovate wideband <installed>
6. cyberdyne oil pres gauge <installed, sensor needs new plate>
7. cyberdyne boost gauge <installed>
8. 3/8" npt tap <received, worked well>
9 walbro <installed, 4 times and replaced at Forged Performance>
10. angle drill, rtv sealant and other stuff for the install < bought, received, used>
11. titek tp with prewelded bung <installed>
12. aps injector loom <installed>
13 vortech map needed <received>
14. tuning <done. 338 whp, 285wtq>
My plan is to buy all the parts over the next few weeks and install either in mid august or ill have to wait till december. Dont have a beater so i rely on the z for work/school.
For my install, ill have 7days set aside for install and a extra weekend to get it tuned. I will do the gauges and utec first, run map 0 to make sure it works. Will have to have the cat worked on. Next the map sensor, injectors. Then i will do the tuner kit over the next day or so. Once complete itll be driven to sharif's shop for a tune.
Anyone have a definite reason as to why id need the walbro? If the stock dampener keep the pressure to 56psi, is the only thing the walbro provides is better flow?
Ive read about a reflash for the ecu? Can that be done at the dealer with the consult II? Cost?
Looks like ill need about 4500 more in parts and setting aside 300 for the walbro and some more for the tune. I have about a 6k budget left if i choose august, if i choose december ill have a bit more. Figure i can get the kit done in august and in december i concern my self with a clutch, retune a winter map.
Any thoughts? sentry? muzzy? Also i have a underdrive pulley, which means i wont build as much boost but if i switch pulleys to a 3.12 it should get me closer to a stock setup.
btw this is my first thread in FI! Please be gentle

You will surpass your power goal with no issues. Let me know how those injectors work for you.
With the larger injectors I would definitely run a warlboro 255. It's very little cost for extra insurance.

I would go ahead and add the walbro. The stock pump with 440cc injectors is done at about 330whp on our dyno with a turbo system, and even sooner with an SC. They are cheap, and easy to install.
Reflashing isnt needed with the setup at all.

since he already have the APS 440 injectors they are more than enough for his power levels. I have the APS injectors and pushing 450whp.
to the one who said to put the wideband sensor on the passenger side, thats NOT true. Driver side is the right place for the sensor...
hey man, sorry i missed you on AIM the other day, kinda busy. shoot me a pm (easier to catch me that way) on the price on your whole setup shipped to you complete cause i know you like to mess with stuff yourself.
installed your nitrous kit that you sold on a car here and it all worked just fine!!
thanks man, talk to you soon...

And just a recommendation...don't get those Prosport gauges. I went cheap and bought a Prosport boost gauge...the biggest pos!
First, the needle is not smooth. It really likes to jump around a lot. And lately, the needle has been pegging at 30psi and will stay there. Just don't waste your money on it! I'm finally doing it right and getting some Autometer Nexus gauges.

super deal on the injetors, thanks again craig!
Also, my goal for power is well below 400whp, with the ur pulley and 3.33 pulley i wont hit but 5psi or so of boost.
98intrigue, i picked prosport gauges because i saw you had gotten them........I like the electric sending unit and not a tube that could loose pressure and have pressure drops ect. Think it could be interference from the sending unit to the gauge?
what i dont get is people use the stock injectors (290cc?) to get 350whp or so with the stock kit. then again they are running a high duty cycle. With the 440cc i should be fine. thats 50% more then stock.

added a few items and updated the status.
going to make a thorough install thread when the time comes.
also, contemplating a smaller pulley/belt. And going to try and remove my UR pulley one more time before i have to fork over cash to get it off.
