Default Vortech. How To Take Off Pulley

Was recently thinking about swapping the 3.12 pully but couldn't figure out how to get it off. Do I loosen the bolts on each side of the pulley or is it something else. I felt like I was going to break it if I tried to take the bolts off. There are also some hex screws on the pulley housing. Do I mess with those? Thanks for any help. Jason

take both the cog belt and the main 6 rib belt off. loosen the bolt that goes through the 3.3 pull and into the cog belt pulley, back out the four allen heads on the cog belt side till they are almost all the way out and then you can slide the pulley off the front....

I wished it was that easy. Even with all the bolts removed, it may not just slide off...at least that's my experience with them. The key wedges the pulley on and may not come loose. You may have to get inventive to get it off. Just be careful since the grooves on the stock pulley will bend easily.

Yeah the bolts on either side of the 3.12 wont budge. Even tried an impact wrench.

yeah guys, an air gun will take it right off if you hold the back side with a wrench. if you back those bolts on the back side ALL the way out, the pulley comes right off, i promise, you have to slide the whole assembly back towards the rear of the car and the pulley will barely come off...

good luck!!

I loosen up the top 3 bolts holding on the blower . Then slightly pry over the blower to slide off the pulley .
