Is 462 RWHP on a completely stock motor good? Average? etc?? I think I can push it with a bit more timing and lean it out a little (I am at 11.0-11.2 now) and get maybe 480 at 10 psi.....

462whp is alot for a stock block. the vq35 doesn't take to well to boost. 400whp seems to be the magic number. most boosted cars on a stock block try to hover around that area. some have been able to run 415 safely for more than 6 or 7k miles and some have blown at 385whp. "if you build it they will come" great work on the kit and the numbers

Really nice numbers guys! Just watch it revving that high with that much boost on a stock block. I wouldn't be suprised if you blow the engine after a few good launchs on slicks at that WHP if you hook up right.

Wow, I thought I heard of guys taking this motor well into the 500s?? Im guessing the rods are tiny? I was hoping that with the larger turbos that we are using, we might be able to get more HP out of it.... Usually TQ #s are the critical # when breaking rods and with these larger turbos, the TQ #s are a bit lower which was our plan to try and make the bottom end live. Im going to turn it up a bit and try to get 550+ or so out of it.... could make a good video

Im too spoiled with the 2Js as we dont get worried until 900 RWHP on the stock bottom ends.

Well, I have a fully built and sleeved shortblock ready to go in her when we break it!! And I am sure we will..... cause we can.... and it's fun

The motor is able to make alot of power on the dyno but once its on the street other factors come into play. The AEM should be able to factor out some of those but its a V6 so the margin of error compared to a L6 is much smaller. You should be able to make more HP because those turbos flow so much up top so you will not see as extreme of a TRQ drop off after 6400. That will keep you HP numbers higher.

We made 479WHP at 10.4 psi with the SFR turbo system which is........ ahem......very similiar to yours. You are approaching the limits of how much air the motor can injest at the boost levels you are running and you are also appraoching the limits of the weak stock internals. Good luck.

Thanks Tim. We should also note that these are infact SFR headers on our current setup, we modded them a tad. We are going to be building a new set for our race car. Here is a pic of our latest supra header

Very nice work guys. Dont' blow up that engine until you have done all of your testing. But I agree....I'd stop where you are, if you plan to run it on the street or track. But with some C16, 500whp should be easy on the dyno...at least for testing purposes.

How do you guys think this would compare to the AAM surge pump?
Different ballpark altogether? Even if you bumped up to a higher bosch lph pump?

What's the price Charles? with or without the kit?

Looks SWEET!!! Nice work. How is the harness going to be done? I see a lot of relays, is that because it is a demo, or is that the way the finished product will be?
