what CEL code goes off from changing the cams? I have never heard of that issue.

Also, as far as valves go, expect to pay about $500 for a set of valves......

I have a full set of stock valves that I may sell. I haven't figured out what valvetrain I am going with yet.

I really dont know what happen bc it happen soo quickly. I was looking at the revs and then at the boost gauge until I heard a boom. But once I heard the boom I happen to glance at the wideband it was at 10 so I really dont no what happen there.

I have been communicating with Kyle at IPP (sponsor on this site) and will be going with his stage 1 shortblock kit or maybe his stage 1 long block ( https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=279921).

Hmmm . . . well if your afr was at 10, I guess we can assume that you didn't lean out. Well, in any case, keep us posted bro.

EDIT:BTW, being that you are in Cali, you should look into GTM. They can do your short/long block also.

Well, I wasn't exactly talking about prices. But for building, install and tune, Sam and GTM are second to none.

Those prices are phenominal! I never knew a short block could be done on a VQ so cheap.

If you factor in machine costs and things like that its really cheaper to buy a short or long block. I would of saved maybe a 1000$ on my build. Mine cost more though because the block was destroyed. The only thing saved was the crank and the heads.

I am going to purchase some Wiseco pistons (8.8: 1 compression which are 0.02 bored) for sure but was wondering if Eagle rods H beams were good enough so this wont happen again.

This was on an AT 05 g35c with only 22XXX . I had a vortech blower pushing around 430hp/350tq (blew in 3rd gear).

My question is how much hp can the eagle H beam rods take if my goal for the built is around 450- 475hp?
How many of those 22000 miles were with the Vortech?

I can't believe this happened to you though Pharmd. Any indication on what caused it? Did you have gauges?

Those people probably don't have 20K boosted miles on their engine.

I am very curious/mildly concerned with what went wrong to cause that much damage.

Wow, nice to know there is an affordable alternative for built engines just in case anything happens.

I know of people around here that have turbos, just so they can say they have 'em. They cruise around, they won't race. I launch at every light, and shift at redline everytime. Except on ice, lol even then VDC is always off. Anyway, I knew the motor was weak when I bought the car.

20k TT. One of them is a SFR TT kit on Tim's car. There is also that thread with mileage and kit for FI.
