Default Air intake tube heat shield for TN....anyone use one?

http://tinyurl.com/2n85vl

I figured with the throttle body intake tube running so close to the turbo on the TN kit, that should help out some with the IAT's. Anyone using one of these?

btw, I did a quick topic search on this and nothing came up.

Not worth it. Get a turbo blanket and header wrap on the downpipe and heat from the turbo is a NON ISSUE. (yes, that's true, for some of the "other" people who refuse to believe it).

The only source of heat at that point is where the intake pipe actually bolts to the face of the timing cover. This bolt/bracket being attached to the block actually conducts more heat than the turbo ever will. I'm going to look for a way to either shield this or bolt it to something else, and any source of heat to the intake charge pipe will be eliminated.

Thanks Craig, the problem is, I already ordered it

I'm going to be installing an air temp sensor gauge along so I'll record averages with it on and off. If it knocks it down 5-10 degrees, I'd consider it worth it.

Thats ok, it couldn't hurt, but I don't think you'll see that much of a diference (but you're covering up the black piping). I'm just saying I'd rather insulate it on the turbo/piping side so the warm air stays in the hot piping in the first place.

I'd like to find a way to insulate or alter that bolt on the timing cover if possilble, as I stated. This is the point of most concern form me.
