Do you regret going FI?

Over those two years, overall, how did you drive the car. Were you getting into boost with every shift or were you driving conservatively most of the time? Did you do any drag evetns or road courses?

Oh, ok.
I should be good for quite a few more years then. I rarely got into boost and when it gets put back in I doubt I will change my driving style.
(well, maybe for the first few days, lol)

Well, 2 years after graduating I finally got my Z, but bought a house instead of going FI. It's by far the best move I could have made at this time in my life. Yeah, that 8 grand I saved up could have done wonders for my car (well, just your basic turbo install), but having to live in an apartment because of it would have made me regret it.
Everyone on these forums say to wait until you know you can afford it. It's really hard to hear that, because I don't want to wait until a 7 year old boosted Z isn't that cool anymore. But they aren't saying that just to frustrate you - they really don't want to see people screw themselves over (or maybe they just don't want any more people complaining about how their motor blew and they don't have money).
I got a bonus recently, but decided to get exhaust and rims with it instead of saving for FI. I want the whole package - now I just have to start saving for the FI, which will take a long time.
After lurking on these forums for a while I've realized that the people on here either have money coming out of their ***, or they are willing to go into debt for FI (i guess there are a few people in between). Right now I can't run with "the big dogs", and it's not worth it to try to do so. Who knows, maybe if I decided to go FI instead of getting the house and the rims I would seen the light of FI Heaven through the clouds and it would have been completely clear to me why I went to great lengths to get that turbo - you never know.
Also, +1 to that. No matter how responsible you think you should be with your money, always think about how you will look back on your life when you're about the kick the bucket. You might regret not having enough money for retirement, but you might regret having a lot of money and being too old to do anything fun with it.

im only 20, so i feel like with the work ethic i have, i should still be able to afford a place right after college. when i think logically about it, the whole idea makes no sense. the car is already fast ( i think so at least), its way nicer that what any of my freinds drive, i wont get any return on the investment, and the government is definitely not going to raise speed limits any time soon. so in that sense, its a terrible idea.
but then i think of how much i love my car, and how much more fun it would be if it were even faster, and how much i want to personalize it.
dont be too surprised if sometime in the next six months or less, im boosting.
The only thing I regret is not waiting longer before going F/I . Not enough was known at the time and a lot of us wasted a lot of money . And I wasted more money by learning some thing on my own

I only regret some of the half-assed parts I bought only to return or sell them later and replace them with better ones
otherwise I wish I went FI sooner, but glad I took the time to do my homework first so I knew what I was getting into and how everything works

The only part I regret is not being able to utilise parts that weren't compatible with the TN kit such as my Nismo headers, Nismo CAI and my Greddy EVO II exhaust.
The EVO II was used but it had to be modded and wasn't optimal for exhaust flow but the car was still FAST!

lol yeah in some ways I kinda think I should have just stock with stock or near stock - popcharger, exhaust etc
The money I've spent in modding I could have bought another decent sports car

I absolutely regret it. It's all fun and games til something goes wrong and your savings get completely destroyed. I got 2 totally beefed up Zs (one is now stock) and will be selling both.. getting me a nice suv to go camping/snowboarding with

I regret that I can't afford a crazy 4.2 + Greddy TT setup. I also regret that I didn't go straight to Vortech. Love FI though...there's no way I can go back to stock...the Z/G with bolt-ons is slow as ****
