Iraq :)
So check this out, im in the army, leaving for Iraq in December, ill be makin BANK while im there due to hazard pay and things like this tax free blah blah.. well needless to say(Cause im in this thread) id love to go FI and do it big, do everything big, and in one big push. If i was to ask for a list of parts for things all the way from clutch to rods and pistons to wheels and tires for a complete build, basically a dream list of the best parts youd like to see a Z outfitted with and say that id do it would you support me?
My idea is this, I want to find a shop and a magazine who would sponsor the idea. Basically leave my z at a known particular shop for my whole deployment and every time I get paid keep shoving them money, and theyd continue to work doing anything and everything. Have a magazine keep a article on the progress of the car every month, and keep tabs on my progress in Iraq. The place Im headed in iraq is called Taji and ill have access to the internet and things so I can keep contact. And my job in the army is a very distinct job, I am PSD for my brigade, I protect all the big dogs to include the president when he comes. I think it could turn into a cool project and give me something to look forward to coming home, a fully built badass Z. Anybody think this is plausable? Id have a show car waiting for me when I got back to the states. Anyone know of anyone I can talk to like magazine reps/shops/product reps anyone?
If this is a bad idea, then whatever ill take the punches and drive on. I am leaving tonight for NTC training in cali till sep 16th, i wont have access to a computer but do leave your thoughts and ill check them when I get back.
let me know, just a thought. later

I say take it to FP and I will look after your car and send you sit reps and pics of the build (I am also in the Army). Forged Performace will do you right. Just so you know your build your talking about is going to cost you around 35K. Thats how much I have into mine with everything. If you plan on just motor and turbos and good EM your looking around a little over 20K.
PM and I'll send you the right way, but remember your have to pay to play on this car.

I say if thats what you really want to do, go for it. Start researching as soon as possible, and email as many people, that can contribute or help you in anyway, as soon as possible. Start pricing everything out, and get in contact with as many magazines as possible. You'll probably get some that will shut you down immediately, but don't let that stop you. Finding a reputable shop will be the easier part, since they'll be the ones getting paid. Getting into the magazine is going to be hard just because you'll need to show them what they'll be getting out of it, free publicity. But if thats what you want, its definately worth a try. Just start emailing as much as possible, as soon as possible.

Unless you have a nice desk job in one of the camps.
