Default What is this center nut on the actuator for?

Well I am nearing the completion of my APS TT turbo install, when I relized the nipples on my actuators were pointing upwards.. meaning too close to the exhaust manifolds. What a ***** to turn around!! While doing this, I have noticed that the centerl nut on the actuator was never tightened...(my buddy did it lol) can someone tell me what is the purpose of it? Im guessing it is just tightened in the direction away from the actuator itself,to the point where it connects with the wastegate arm so it is more secure?

Thanks for any help.

P.S No I didnt take off my actuators to take this picture These are the 12Ib ones that came with the tuner kit, I replaced them with 8Ib. (stock block :P )

that nut is the nut that tightens down on the arm once you have it threaded onto the threaded part right there. you tighten down that to keep the arm stable so it doesnt have any play in it..
