Default Leaking oil 2 weeks after Vortech SC install

Drove the car hard for the 1st time after installing the Vortech SC, car ran great but when I took it back out of my gargage later that day I notice a puddle of oil. It looks like its leaking somewhere close to where the dip stick goes in but its pretty tough to tell. I'm taking it to a 300/350 specialist at 1 of the dealerships on Wed. but my worries is how much its going to cost to fix. I had the SC installed 12 hours away as no one in my area (Edmonton) has installed SC before. The oil must only be leaking when the car is being driven as the puddle isn't getting bigger and its sat in the garage now for 2 days.
Any suggestions or possible areas this may be coming from? And should I be sending the bill to the shop who installed the SC?

i recently installed a vortech kit for a local guy. we had a problem like that. oil was coming about the same spot. turned out it was just dripping down and coming out there.

the source of the oil leak was the 1/8npt fitting for the oil feed at the supercharger. vortech says to not put teflon on there because they are worried about excessive teflon getting into the blower and clogging the oil feed to it. i had that thing on there tight as hell and it was still leaking. took about a week or so for it to build up enough oil on the undertray for it to actually drip to the ground.

was abotu a 1 hour fix, i just pulled off the driver side fender-well and put teflon on the threads. problem solved. used a can of brake cleaner to remove all the oil that got all over the place.

I'm going to have check into this stuff that we used on our Porsche 928 but there was some industrial thread sealant that we found that has ridiculous heat and pressure ratings (in the thousands for both) and it never drys. We used if for a number of areas on our car and it works amazingly well! It is basically put on just like loc tite. Not a whole lot of it but it will do wonders as long as you get a couple whole threads covered with this stuff. It works even better on NPT ports!

And it is resistant to fuel and oil making it even better for these two "like to leak" applications!

we have had cars blowing oil out of the dipstick as well, and have had customers who brought us their cars where the oil was leaking around where the block was tapped, just drain the oil, take out the fitting, RTV and replace it so it wont leak.

good luck, oil leaks are such a pain in the *** sometimes..

Be careful trying to tighten the oil feed fitting [ oil squirter ] . They snap off real easy . If you ever have to order another . They do make steel one instead of copper .

I was just about to chime in too. My car was the one that Charles did the install on. I drove it like a week or so and had small puddles of oil. Like he said, he put teflon on the threads and I haven't had any other oil issues. I believe its a pretty common thing with vortech. I would say the three main issues you should have, that might come up will be the belt slipping, oil leak, and a fuel leak from the aux pump. I have heard many vortech guys that had the same issues in the begining. Welcome to FI!
