Default Vortech tune?

How lean are you guys tuning your Vortech kits? I did a street tune w/ around 11.5 AFR, which I think my tuner is being way too conservative. Let me know your thoughts.

What A/F gauge do you run ? Is it as accurate as your tuners ? My Zietronix runs 1/2 to 1 full point leaner than my shops Dyno A/F .

I don't have an in cabin AFR gauge. It was just tuned using a wideband while in car. Don't know what brand sensor they used, but they used the same sensor to street tune the 700+hp R34 we have in our crew.

Im going to end up tuning to around 12 to 1 A/F , but I run W/M injection and have a built motor . But 11.5 to 1 or lower seems to be where most tuners shoot for .Probably closer to 11 to 1 for stock motors .

at 4 psi that would be conservative, at 9 not so much...

mine is typically around 11.7 depending how hot or cold it is outside. One time I messed up the temp corrections on the Utec and hit 13s and 14s for a solid 1/4 mile pass, amazingly it still didnt knock or blow up, it probably helped that I had 110 octane in the tank

I am tuned for around 11.0 with my turbo xs tuner reg. My tuner said that most in cabin widebands run 0.5 richer then his. I just go with what he says since he is running a motec wideband which I am sure costs $$.

The Vortech creates less trq, so you can run slightly leaner AF ratios and still be safe. Every car is different, so if he dialed in the AF ratio for best power, plus a small safety cushion, I would just leave it at that.
I always trust our NTK dyno wideband. The controller is an Autronic, so its good stuff.

Would 11.5 A/F hitting 11-12psi with Water Injection be too conservative?
