APS TT - minor leak
Hi. Currently on APS TT with a mildly built block on a g35c.
I noticed a slight leak underneath the car, right under the transmission where the cross member is located, last night and was wondering what it could be. The leak is apparently oil but not sure what it is of some sort. Doesn't seem to be motor oil as the smell is not stringent, the viscosity is quite low and the color is a deep brown (i added in fresh motor oil a week ago).
To minimize the options of what may be causing the leak, just wanted to know if the power steering reservoir is supposed to bubble/flow like a boiling pot of water. I haven't noticed this before and it's getting me quite anxious to say the least.
If it's not the power steering, then what could it be?
- faulty clutch line (clutch felt a bit mushy, however the brake reservoir is filled nicely and clutch still works great with light engine/clutch load a few minutes ago to drop my gf off).
- cracked transmission (please.. not this!)
- power steering line popped (I hope it's this).
- blown turbo oil line (however the oil doesn't apparently seem to be from the motor)
- cracked oil pan (same as above, but the oil is coming from underneath the transmission)
Here are some pics I just took immediately... not much, but any input will help. I'll raise the car today and check out what is the main concern.

Check the oil return lines where they connect to the oil pan. It can leak there and travel back along the braces. This would be the first thing to look at. Also make sure the fittings on the pan are tight where the hoses connect.

Looks like the rear main seal has gone bad, or failed, or was not installed properly. You'll probably have to drop the tranny and replace it.

I checked underneath the car and looks like everything was intact. The oil seemed to be seeping from between the transmission and block... so your assumptions were correct: it is most likely a rear main seal problem.
Well... today, I got a hold of some GC (German Castrol) and had a fresh oil change, along with the oversized Nissan filter for the vq. I also purchased a rear main seal additive that'll stop the leak. I know it's not a wise thing to do, but it's the best that I can do for now until I can schedule and appointment to fix that seal. So as usual, I must check the oil religiously.
Time to call GTM tomorrow.
