Default Race Gas is FUN!!!!

So.............yesterday, I was convinced by an aquaintance to put some race gas in the G. Little did I know, but there was a shop right around the corner from where I was that had barrels of Citgo 110!!! I went over as my tank was below "E" anyway, and had them pump 7 gallons of 110 into my tank ($50.)

Today, I did some quick retuning and fiddling with the UTEC boost controller. Needless to say, 12 psi @11.7 A:F is alot more fun than 9 psi at 11.2 A:F!!!!

The G used to hook up well in 2nd, but not anymore! I was having some fun, and happened upon a new ML63. I know they are an SUV, but it has a 507 HP V8 in it. Needless to say, the guy sure was shocked and impressed.

This makes me want to hurry up my motor project!!!! I can't wait to have this kind of power (and more) in the near future.

eagle - i feel your pain...the 76 station that i go to down the street has VP 100 octane at the pump for only $8.99/gal! $150 to fill my tank...instead of being happy that I just filled up with 100 octane and have 620lbs of torque on tap, I actually pull over on the side of the road and cry.

that's weak sauce. You should try Torco Mach 118 (motor octane rating of 120+) or try VP Import- which vp claims makes 5% more power than their C16!!!

Sorry guy's but the 110 octane "race gas" is weak sauce!

I would love to pay $8 for race gas

C16 is anywhere from $11 to $12.50 a gallon

I went with the 110 because that was what was available at the time. Additionally, you should only go with the lowest octane for what you need. too high of an octane and the mixture burns too slowly, and you lose power compared to a fast burning gasoline. Experimenting with different gases is the best solution to finding the perfect fuel for your engine. Oxygenated fuels are really nice, but they are outlwaed by many racing sanctioning bodies.

100 octane is fine for me, I can make plenty of power with it, easily available at the pump, plus I like my 02 sensors
