Do you guys feel that an expert (and I mean expert) Honda tuner/builder can tune a VQ motor with Vortech supercharger well? If yes why? and If no why? no assumptions please

You are close to Jotech in Dallas or SGP in Houston, why not one of them?

Jotech has never tuned a UTEC the last time I checked. SGP is 4 hours away. I wouldn't mind driving there, and I've even spoken w/ Mark @ SGP a couple times. Awesome guy. But let's stick to the discussion I've put forth.

Have you asked him if he might be familiar with this motor or tuning software of your choice? He might have something up his sleeve.

I would be more worried about if he was atuned to the EMS you are using or going to buy , than the motor he is going to tune . Of coarse a tuner that has tuned lots of QV's is going to know more about the motor and will be able to tune it faster .

I think I'd stick with someone that has VQ experience.... Too much can go wrong because of a bad tune. Just my 2 cents.

Oh Matchless was great, but I'm thinking further down the line.

When I get my utech I'm going to Tony @ T1R in Dallas to tune it. He's done a variety of cars and everyone has said great things about him.

Yeah, I'm actually referring to Tony. He's regarded as one of the top tuners, engine builders, and fabricators around.

the tuner does not need to be an expert in a particular engine...he needs to be an expert in the particular software being used. If you can find someone who is both familiar with your motor AND the ecu of choice, all the better I suppose, but the latter would be the most important IMHO
