Default Vortech: Diameter of filter on blower?

I need a few people to confirm what size the opening of the Vortech blower is where the filter resides. I've heard anywhere from 3.5" to 5". Trying to get some tubing to route the filter elsewhere.

You will most likely need 4" b/c you need to angle the tubing downward slightly.

If you look at the inlet of the blower and compare it with the stock intake square opening, they are not aligned. You could get a 3.5" silicon tubing make it fit, or you can get a 4" tubing and cut the bottom portion so that you can angle the tubing downward.

I don't quite understand why you would go with a 4" since there would be no gains.

To the OP-

You can get any filter with a 3.5" opening and it will fit on the blower. I am currently using an Amsoil EA filter. With that in mind you can use aluminum 3.5" tubing if your good and make it work or you can use 3.5" silicon bends. Whatever works best for you.

Where is a good place to get some 3.5" silicon tubing? I remember seeing it at Summit but it was in increments of 10'

Send me a PM to remind me, but I have had an S Trim and I will measure our new T-Trim kit to get you the correct measurements.

BTW - My Vortech kit with the S-Trim made 400 to the wheels stock block. We are going to tune the T Trim to see what we get soon.

3.5 inches on the tuner kit (SQ trim). The cheapest alternative might be to adapt the Injen CAI (like we did). It has plently of silicon couplings, aluminum tube, etc. and you can trim it to fit. The larger Injen air filter can be wedged behind the bumper brace (with a lot of grunting).

Hope that helps

Vibrantperformance also has a ton of bend in silicon and aluminum in many different sizes.

I will have to check what the part # was for the Amsoil filter I bought for my vortech

Amsoil part #EaAU3560.

However, chances are that no one else will be able to fit this filter like I can since I have a custom vortech setup and basically have unlimited freedom with room.

Yes we do!

Vibrant is the way to go IMO. Their silicon couplers are great quality and are thick to handle high boost. That is what I am using on my kit.
