Default 9:1 CR pistons

Does anyone know where I can get some 9:1 forged pistons from. I have seen tons of 8:5 and 8:8 but Im wanting to get to a 9:1 as Im use to having the power of the 10:1 of my current engine and dont want to drop that far back. If I got 8:5 pistons could I take enough away from the head safley to raise it to the 9:1?

Give CP pistons a call, they will make them in any CR that you want.

I wondering if I got those Arias Pistons as they state to hold over 1,000 horsepower and raised the compession to about 9.3 by shaving the head down a little for about 550 horsepower. How do you think that would work?

buy the 9:1 ED arias and leave them alone and run them. Why do you want to move to 9.3:1? If it is because of throttle response, off boost power or to run less boost, the difference will not be measurable or noticable. You could even run 8.5:1 and you wouldn't feel a difference

There is absolutely no need for L19 rod bolts. The standard ARP 2000 ones will be plenty.

Go with eagle rods if you are watching your money. Pauters are nice, but kinda of a waste considering the power levels these engines are going to. You can do some nice Clevite or Cosworth bearings, or just let your machine shop source you out some. I let mine get me some and they have been awesome.

any bearings should be fine, just make sure you size them properly or you could be looking at another rebuild shortly. You can use OEM bearings, ACL, Cosworth, etc.

IMHO the pauters are beyond overkill. The eagles are strong rods and compared to others on the market are $1 store priced. Spend the extra money on the ED pistons. ARP 2000 head studs (only offered through GTM as far as I know) or ARP L19 will both be sufficient. You can torque the L19's slightly more than the ARP 2000. The 2000's usually tq to 79 lbs, but GTM says you can push them to 85 lbs. The L19's can be tq'd upwards of 95 lbs. I believe the oem head bolts are in the neighborhood of 65 lbs for reference.

One other thing to ensure is a good head gasket. Cosworth just recently released their new stopper style gasket similar to the HKS stopper style. I would recommend one of them, with the cosworth being over 100 bucks cheaper than the comparable HKS. These are the only two headgaskets I would consider

I can promise you the eagles are even overkill... and at about 1/2 the price of the pauters, are about the best bargain you will find
