Default Ses Code P2138 T.p.s. /volt Correlation

Hey guys, after i build my engine i keep on receiving the P2138 and the SLIP light pops us and the car wont accelerate anymore.

Can anybody help me with this???? i've checked everything and dont know what to do anymore.

I've even changed the throttle body and the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR just in case but it keeps popping up the P2138 code

THank you,

Rafa

I've done the TB and the MAF Sensor and I still have problems. I guess I need to order a new accelerator pedal assembly.

Yes it's not the TPS, but the APP (accelerator pedal position) sensor. This is a dual potentiometers setup that the ECU constantly monitors and if it's the least difference between the two it throws a DTC, that really slows down acceleration. Probably it's the sensor that sits on the pedal, but it also culd be the harness.

This is the correct answer as i had this code pop up and did the same with a new TB and had the same result awhile back.I replaced the APP and havent looked back since......i think this is what was the root cause of me being on my 3rd TB.

What could have caused it to fail? Seems very random to me.

My bad, that is actually what I meant (pedal sensor not throttle body)! Good info.

Default Nothing works!!

I replaced both, the Throttle Position Sensor AND the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor but still same problem. Codes P2128 and P2138, also Check Engine, Slip AND TPS lights are on! What else could be the problem with sluggish acceleration? Thx, Rich

Hey there. I have the exact same issue on a 370Z. Nothing seems to solve it. I can barely drive a mile and then pops again. It might be time for a new IPDM, have you tried that? I'm honestly thinking of selling the car as it is, it's frustrating.
