Default Custom W/G Relocation for TN?

For the older TN kits, Instead of just buying the W/G relocation kit, anyone think about relocating it to the crossover pipe similar to the powerlab kit? And using block off plates in the stock location...Obvioulsy this would require some welding and custom modification along with an atmosphere dump...but mayby it would cure the overboost from the older kits with a tial 44 mm...any input?

Any opinions on relocating a tial 44mm to the crossover pipe like the pl kit? In theory it should work right?

I think we discussed this in a PM a while back, unless I'm thinking of someone else. If so, I'm not sure why you created a thread on it.

craig,

aren't you going to be testing out some different wastegate locations (or multiple WGs) on your setup? I remember you mentioning it some time ago.

Well... since the cat's already out of the proverbial bag... I don't want to discuss this because the last thing I want to do is start a kit vs kit debate. But anyway...

It came up in my discussions with Jeremy WAY back before Power Lab went public, but unfortunately we were trying to find a piece by piece upgrade to the turbonetics kit and stayed in that mode of thought. I'd credit him with the initial idea in our own case, unfortunately that's not the way we initially did things. But, how they (PL) configured their wastegate is great design for and the cornerstone of that kit.

I've come to the conclusion that wastegate configuration is what makes or breaks these "top-mount" single turbo kits at higher power levels. Hopefully we'll have some examples of one or two different setups here pretty soon, but I'd rather not have people going out and hacking up their Turbonetics kits just yet.

Craig you were thinking about me. we talked in pm about running 2 wastegates or 1 big one. 3 will be trying this out in winter when my built motor goes in.
