here is the finished product minus the mesh and the CF cover piece/stiffiner that i am going to fab once i receive the CF flat stock i ordered. sorry for the appearance of the z but i am doing some upgrades right now including having my vortech induction piping powder coated, upper plenum, etc,etc........also my intercooler is removed right now. i need to open up the area a little bit more for the oil cooler as you can see in the pic. you can also see my CAI gets a direct shot of cold air now as well as the upper radiator section.

measured and layed out my templates that i fabbed out of lexan. measured for the centerline on the bumper skin. transfered the outline of the template on to the bumper and cut ever so carefully with a sharp utility blade. then cleaned up all edges and radiuses with a dremel, rotary file, and flat file. i still have to fab and finish this project off with the CF cover plate and mesh insert that is soon to come.

Looks really good and makes sense to do... My only reservation is cutting the center section of the bumper beam out...

i have already had this happen! i broke a axle at the track, the flat bed driver attaches the tow hooks to the lower suspension links. works like a charm.

The G35 is a bit different, but here is what I did:

Once the urethane was cut strips of urethane were urethane welded to trim everything in, causing all the air in the front of the car to go through the intercool to the radiator. There is no way for air to get around anything, as it is all directly directly to the intercooler. I have a big Koyo radiator as well and I've never had any heat issues with the car.

looks real good. Cutting the bumper would worry me, but it looks clean. I am taking the front off this friday and cutting out the 3 slats that came in the original 03 Zs.

how much for your time to do another? serious though if your interested I'd love to have that work done to my front bumper. I'm gonna be running into the same issue as i'm throwing a big oil cooler and a big trans cooler. not digging aftermarket bumpers.
