Default HKS Supercharger or the Twins

I've pretty much decided to go FI, but living in Cali the question is whether or not to stay "legal". My plan is to have a built and stroked engine by GTM (either 3.8 or 4.2) and then use an APS TT OR the new HKS supercharger. I have always been planning on the APS twins but now with the new HKS kit that I could pair with a 4.2 build my goal of 500 whp could be attainable with a carb legal sticker under the hood. It would be more costly to do it this way (need Stage 3 cylinder heads), it wont be as easy to make the power and the feel of the car will be different from when the power comes on with the twins, so THAT is where my dilemma is now. I also realize that a stroked engine with the APS TT will be capable of more than my goal of 500 whp which is another plus for the APS.

Basically I’m trying to understand if 500 whp from a built and stroked engine with a supercharger will be as fun to drive as 500 whp from a TT. If so, I am willing to pay the extra cost to have the headwork done in order to achieve my goal and stay “legal”. If not, I will go with the twins for less money and more funny.

Depends if you like a relatively linear power curve, or the feel (not to mention sound) of two turbos spooling up...

Really, it's personal preference. If you want to stay legal, then only look at CARB approved kits.

if you want 500hp, all the CARB kits wont be CARB anymore.

I realize that which is why I put the word "legal" in quotes, but at least I would have a carb approved kit with a sticker to show which could very well prevent an officer from writing a ticket to go see a referee or would help out even with the ref.
