Default fat single or Twin turbo/ cat-no cat with turbo

I am buying a Z and will eventualy have a turbo kit installed. I need some opinons on the z's possibilities and I figure this is the best place to get them.
First of all My friend reccomended a Fat single turbo, becasue A: It can produce the same horse power. Then B: Theres less stuff that can mess up and go wrong (simpler to manage all together).
I need Torque and acceleration at lower speeds more so than 60+ Torque, for Im normaly just driving on the streets and highways.
Ill prly always be running 8 psi on stock internals so...

On another note, when the previous owner had my turbo miata he put a staight pipe in and removed the cat converter. Would this be a smart move on a turbod Z aswell?

Also if anyone would like to give me a quote on possible gains from specific kits, and the best bang for your buck choices there are.

Thanks

OK i will lend you a little advice so this thread along with your future threads and posts on this site do not get locked or totally flamed. There is a searchfunction on the site tool bar. I recommend posting less and reading more. You will learn alot in a short amount of time and your questions normally will get answered without ever having to ask the question. just a friendly tip, but take it how you will.

on a side note, as of right now a TT kit is better for this car. Most of the high whp cars a re using TT kits. Greddy,APS, and JWT being the most popular and being very capable.

Im starting to like the idea of large singles on our cars. If I where to do it again, I think I would go with a GT37r or GT40r setup.
