Max horsepower with stock internals. Might upgrade later down the road. Again...no budget

OK....

Your weak link in the stock motor is the connecting rods. Your good to roughly 400-450 before you start running into longevity issues.

Options...

-Greddy Twins
-APS Twins
-Turbonetics
-APS Single
-Powerlab Single
-JWT Twins

What type of driving do you plan on doing??

I don't want to blow my entire bonus on this. I just know a good price range for turbos is 5-8k and i have no problem with that.

I've looked at the greddy and aps twins. And the aps single. But another thing is the greddy comes with the preprogramed ecu and the aps you have to tune. Is there any other turbo kit that comes with preprogramed software?

Turbonetics comes with a reflash, Gredy comes with E-Manage, Powerlab comes with a Turbo XS Utec w/ Base Map.

I HIGHLY reccommend doing some sort of piggyback or standalone. Not needed, but I reccommend it. Utec is the most comin, Greddy E-Manage is not a favorite with Z owners. Then you have the standalones...

-Haltech
-ProEFI
-HKS F-Con V-Pro

Standalone will be the best route, but also the most expensive. You will have better control over the car during tuning.

WHATEVER KIT YOU GET, GET IT TUNED BY A PROFFESSIONAL

Again, What type of driver are you and where do you plan on driving your car?

Daily driver and 1/4 mi track on the weekends. I eventually want to get into road courses tho. Also, why is the e-manage not a favorite?

That's a START! To be safe you'll need at a MINIMUM of about 10k. I bought a used kit and still spent that much.

For Daily Driving and 1/4 track, I prefer a single turbo over twins.

Twins is better low-end power and good mid-range power

Single Turbo is good mid-range but better top end.

If you are looking for good power with stock internals, I would narrow it down to three single kits...

-Turbonetics single Turbo
-APS Single Turbo
-Powerlab GT35R Single Turbo

All these kits have there pros and cons.

Turbonetics: Bretty good quality kit, can pick one up for realitivly cheap, comes with a reflash if you don't want to spend the money on a standalone. Some people have issues with some parts of the Turbonetics kit, but they have a good warranty program and good customer service. There kit produces higher intake temps do to the design of the charge piping. This could lead to heat-soak and detonation if not tuned right, but a lot of people have had success with it.

APS: This is a better overall kit then the Turbonetics. It has better fuel components and larger turbo. It comes with a APS custom piggyback setup for tuning. One of the main issues I see with some APS turbos is the cartridge in the turbo seems to fail, and it's hard to get a replacement without paying out of pocket. Between these two I would go APS over Turbonetics. That's just my opinion.

Powerlab: This is a better and more complete kit then both the APS and the Turbonetics. Larger turbo capable of making over 550+whp (with the right supporting mods), largest injectors out of the three (600cc), comes standard with a Turbo XS UTEC for better tuning. If you plan on upgrading down the line this would be my choice. The downside, it is still a fairly new kit, and only a few people have it to supply feedback. It is the most expensive kit of the three, and as of right now there are only two authorized dealers (Intense Motorsports and MRC Motorsports).

You dont need no damn search, just take a few hours of your life and read the FI section. There is more then just the top page, a lot of people seem not to realize this...

If you are considering FI you are in the realm of MAJOR money - do your research. If you have questions the FI guys will be happy to answer them if they are SPECIFIC. We will not spoon feed you though!

1. do your research
2. learn from other's mistakes
3. understand that the road to FI bliss is paved with heartache and blown engines.

That's the price for the FI system. You still have to pay for the install, larger injectors, if the system doesn't come with it, a walbro fuel pump, boost and a/f gauge, and the tune

oil cooler, and oil temp gauge are also good add ons.

Once that is done, you are looking at around $10k+

The TN kit is awesome. GREAT warranty. You can just continually swap out parts under warranty until your motor blows from being fed the TN special "heated boost"

I have a TN kit and i know how much it sux. Ugly welds, blown turbos left and right, small downpipe small enough for a toyota prias exhaust.

This kit was made just for the bling factor. You gotta swap out so many parts just get horsepower but those parts can cost so much that you might as well go ahead and buy a twin turbo.

And lets get serious, warranty is good only for 1 year and the first buyer. What if i buy used and something happens. Ya, let me sell my body...

IMHO it is a warrantied piece of **** if you couldn't read into my posts

Regardless of what kit you buy, I would never recommend buying used. Been down the road with other people's setups and never again. Missing parts, worn out part, bent this, cracked that, and the list goes on
