He wants me to get a APS oil pan and re-route it to that to see if that changes anything. Also he said it might have something to do with the oil restrictor going into the turbo, he thinks the turbo may be getting more oil than it can handle.
Both suggestions by the shop are 'band aids' at best and doubt either are a viable solution to the problem

That is very true...

I called Turbonetics about 5mins after I made that post, they want me to look at the intercooler and see if there is any oil in it, or the pipeing. If that is the case, the seals on the turbo are probably blown, and I will be sending it back. They were very friendly and easy to deal with on the phone!

You never answered my question - is the kit new or used?

If it's a brand new kit then I don't see how it could possibly be an issue with the turbo.

The kit was installed brand new, I have had it since January.

The problem started about a month ago.

There's no way you've fried the seals in such a short amount of time unless there was some other major problem. I would check the PCV, oil feed, and return yourself as you can't always trust everything every shop says. If anything, install the AAM spacer kit with braided return line rather than the APS oil pan. That will eliminate any possiblity of kinks in the return line.

Also, there should be no oil restrictor on the turbonetics turbo.

Sorry for the noob question, I know where and what the return lines look like.

Where is the PCV valve and what should I be looking for that would not let it return the oil correctly.

Do you have an oil catch can?

+1... If you dont you ARE burning oil, how much depends on your engine, but regardless you will be burning some.

Also, you never responded to Sharif's comments - how much smoke are you seeing? If its a small puff upon decel after a hard pull, I would not be concerned. If you are putting up a smoke screen behind you, then you definitely have issues.

Also if you return line isn't kinked or misrouted and you are tapped into the upper pan, then the APS pan will do nothing for you - dont waste the money. Like Taurran said the TN kit doesnt use a oil supply restrictor so the turbo getting too much oil is not likely unless you have crazy high oil pressure for some reason.

Also, have you verified your oil level is not overfilled?

I keep a very close eye on the oil level, and I'm defn not overfilled.

As far as the amount of smoke I'm getting, its a space shuttle launch, not just a little puff.

The PCV line is the hose going from the compressor inlet pipe by the filter to the back of the drivers side valve cover. If that hose is pinched the crankcase is not going to get any vacuum and it will cause blow by.

Okay, the shop looked at that also, and that is also not kinked.

I will be pulling off the bumper and looking to see if there is oil in the IC like turbonetics said to do.

Okay, I pulled off the intercooler today, and there is no oil inside, so it is not the turbo.

I will be bringing to into my friends shop to have it pulled apart and have him look at all of the oil lines.

Do you think it has anything to do with the oil (mobil 1 10w30 synthetic), I'm going to change the oil to see if that helps at all. I want to try everything before I pay to have the car torn apart.

+1 what you think is a restrictor is nothing more than an oil filter.
