Default Stage 2 methanol kit question

All this talk about detonation and heat soak is starting to get to me especially when the HOT summer months are here. I decided to go with the snow performance stage 2 kit but not sure what is best for Vortech blower pushing 16psi.

Which of these stage 2 kits will be best for the blower?

1) stage 2 boost cooler: kit uses manifold boost pressure

2) stage 2 MAF boost coller: kit uses the 0-5 volt output from the mass air flow

1 - based off of boost. I really want to get the kit as well...just strapped for cash right now.

Go with option 1, its the most simple method.

Actually based on what i have found water is actually beter for heat reduction as opposed to straight meth. When water is injected into the combustion chamber it evaporates and as it evaporates it "absorbes heat" from the combustion chamber. Methanol serves as a octane booster. By doing this it allows for more timming advance to be run and a leaner afr all resulting in more power at a given boost level.

Now if you are after cooler combustion temps running a 50/50 mix of water/meth is ideal. You get the cooling effect of water while getting the bump in octane . This is what i used on my old car and i was running a Vortech SC at 11psi w/o a intercooler.

BTW i would just use the boost regulated kit

I had Sharif install the Snow kit which runs off boost with 100% Meth. I would rather the protection of high octane...I dont drive hard when outside temps are above 85

Ya More like 80% of the time over here in az....but quick question, looking at summitracing.com and I only see a stage 1 kit, the stage 2 just appears to be for diesel. Do they make a stage 2 for the z? And what would be the benefit over the stage 1?

I was actually considering getting the Stage 2 kit and running straight distilled water for the added cooling, and not bothering with methanol. I'm not going to mess around with my timing much until I get to a tuner at some point.

Now, at what point does the impact of the cooling of the air not make up for the loss of the amount of air entering the cylinders (because it's replaced by h2o)? I guess I'd just have to toss it on a dyno and see.
