Default After a Long Road

I started back in 2007 with a 100% stock Nissan 350z. My previous car was a turbo prelude and it wasnt long until i found out once you feel boost you never go back. I started small with the basic bolt ons JWT Pop Charger, Plennum Spacer, and exhaust. Those mods yielded 250whp. I wasnt really happy with this and started craving more power so i picked up a used Greddy Twin Turbo Kit off these forums. With Just the Greddy TT, Emanage Ultimate, Open Test Pipes, JWT Clutch Flywheel, AEM Truboost i put out 403whp with more room to spare. A few months later i picked up a Nismo V1 Kit and put it on.
Eventually an injector failed. At the time i thought that the motor was blown so i already started ordering parts to build the motor. A week later i found out that it was just that the injector got stuck open so i was faced with a decision. Pull and build the motor or just fix the injector. Since i had already ordered the parts i decided to go ahead and build the motor. Me and a close friend of mine along with the help of his dad who is a 20yr ASE Master Tech built the motor mostly after their shop hours. I honestly have to thank this site for alot of the parts on my car. Alot of the parts were purchased second hand mostly through forged performance. anyhow the motor took a while to build being i had to wait until the parts i needed were available in the market place.
Fastforward. Today the car was finally put on the dyno after alot of issues. the results:

A safe 511whp and 499wtq @ 15psi.
I told my tuner i wanted to stop at around 500 because i didnt know the limits of the JWT Clutch/Flywheel Combo. Other than that the only issue is the thermostat doesnt feel like opening anymore. Other than that hopefully I will get to take delivery soon.

With this build I spent under 20k in parts and labor. I kind of wanted to proove that the 350z can be built on a budget and you dont need to spend a ridiculous amounts of money to build a 350z. So hopefully this will open the door to more backyard kind of people and make power accessible to everyone.

Congrats on your build.....I am sure it feels good driving it.

Its always been a known fact that if you do it yourself...you could save 5K to 7K in labor....but ONLY if you do it correctly the first time. Very few have been lucky. One thing goes wrong and the 7K you saved gets eaten up. Most of the people that are lazy like me or dont have the ***** or knowledge to take on a task like this would rather pay the 7K up front

Once again...congrats

Great news considering the greddy twin kit now costs like 8G's compared to 6 G's just last week.. Julian did say these kits were rising in cost and boy they did.. Now just slap on some wheels and u have a show car in the works...

I give props to people that attempt something of this magnatude on their own. I wish I had the knowledge and the patience, but unfortunately I don't so I just throw money at other people to do the dirty work. Congrats to the OP and enjoy your new power.

not really. a show car is a waste of a good car. if hes making 511 he oughta be using 511, not 0 being parked and shiny all the time. hes got a pretty nice ride going here, would hate to see it get wasted

I totally hear ya and understand... I sure as sh&t wouldn't want a so called trailer queen. But i guess i shouldnt have said show car but to me any really really clean Z with some tasteful exterior mods and some boost qualifies for a show car for the fact that boost alone costs around give or take 10K and people have show cars for way less in mods. I'm just loving the Z bro..
