I had a question about the fuel setup for the vortech.
When you buy the full kit the system works with a 2 pump setup; you still use the original OEM pump, and the pump that goes with the kit that you install besides the FMU.
Now when you upgrade you pulley to 2.87, you need to buy a higher flowing pump (probably the Walbro GSS342 255lph, right?)...is this setup up the same way, where you just replace the original vortech fuel pump for the Walbro?
I'm confused because I see threads of people installing the walbro's in place of the OEM pump where they have to take it out of the OEM casing and have to re-drill it and stuff, but i think that's for turbos right?

if you are going to a 2.87 you should look into a full return system, you will replace the stock pump with the walbro and take out the vortech one, you will get a regulator with it that you can adjust for pressure

I actually have a rev-up setup...I'm only going down 1 level from 3.12 with that setup; my whp goals are modest too; about 400whp....
So with a rev-up kit with 2.87, 440 injectors, ss box, and the walbro I may be able to keep it close to a stock vortech setup and not need a return system...besides I live in Cali so a return would be a dead giveaway for smog check (I'm hoping to get lucky that they don't notice the smaller pulley for smog checks)....

damn I got it so easy where I'm at, they don't even pop the hood, they walk by with a mirror to look under, then you drive it in and they plug in to the computer and if no codes are thrown they let you go, you don't even have to start the car once its inside.

Yah...emissions laws in Cali are a beeyotch; I would probably have a TT otherwise...and cops around here have a tendency to pop your hood and give fix-it tickets too...

Ok I called superchargersonline and I now know that when you upgrade your vortech boost (2.87 pulley, walbro, 440cc injectors) you dump your FMU, vortech and OEM pump altogether, and install the Walbro in-tank directly in place of all that and get your ECU tuned for the new fuel setup....
I'm going to get instructions from phunk get the fuel pump swap done...
