I think Everyone needs to chill out!!!!!!!!! I personaly think that everyone made such a huge hype over this intake and had built so much pressure on cosworth, that no itake plenum on the planet could possibly achieve the results we wanted. Having said that i think the pressure got to cosworth and released it pre-maturely due to all the pressure and it turned out to to leak under high boost. having said that, it does not mean that this intake sucks, cause it clearly works and yes has its diffrences with other intakes depending on what you want out of your car (Options are nice). Im sure the problem is easely fixable and yes another wait till fixed. This sucks cause i wanted one too and probably will get one when i have the money to modifi my car. But till then we need to be patient.

Just out of curiosity, how many people who have this plenum have actually ran into issues with it?

XKR... today I got my first ticket since my re-build (actually my first in 7 years) in your home territory (441, north of Glades)...

I just had a Passport Escort SRX system installed on Wednesday, and it didn't even give me a chirp to let me know the Sherrif's Deputy was behind me. Actually, the deputy was cool, he wrote me for an illegal lane change, but could have gotten me for a whole, whole lot more.

I'll need to keep it tame when I'm in Boca I guess...

LOL... They seem to hang around Glades and 441 and also I-95. They turn their signal down and by the time your radar goes off..its too late. You have to keep your eyes in the rearview mirror. they are kool though...they gave me a seatbelt ticket instead of 30 miles over limit because he was impress with the power

Stay safe

Interesting.

Any new news on the Cosworth plenums?

any reason for not changing the throttle body location on the plenum cover? such angle for the air to enter can't be optimal can it?

Motormouth, I hate that design "flaw" of all of the manifolds that are out on the market today. That bend definitely has to limit the potentially of the motor in some shape way or form. I wish we had a manifold like this available similar to the corvette...

Me. Shop installing my S/c told me it was leaking (could be heard and felt from endcaps according to tech). HKS S/C at ~9psi.

I contacted Cosworth, but no one got back to me until 2 days later. So, the tech at the shop uninstalled it and reinstalled everything, paying close attention to the o-ring placement. And also added some sealant to attempt to get a good seal. The plenum was left to dry for 24+ hours and then apparently held boost pressure w/out leaking.

But I don't know the final results as I have yet to get my car back.

I'm gonna be mighty pissed if the Cos starts leaking again at only ~9 psi. That's ridiculous!! In Cosworth's advertising, it even states: "the Cosworth Twin Plenum Inlet manifold is perfect for both normally aspirated cars and forced induction applications."

Is ~9psi too much boost for this $1300 Cosworth plenum!?

I sure hope I get taken care of by Cosworth if this thing starts to leak again.

We run 30+psi consistently, often combined with nitrous, and don't have any trouble with leaks. During an entire season of dynoing and racing we had one incident with a faulty end cap letting go, and Cosworth was very quick to help. Also, $1300 is very low priced in my opinion for such a quality piece, though I am used to $2-3000+ for a good 2JZ manifold.

that is true hal, great point on the costs compared to the 2jz. i believe intense ran 30 psi too in with the gt37r TT kit wideobdy Z. I am sure its to no suprise to you that the cosworth plenum held no issues.... by the way the cosworth plenum they used happens to be mine...gotta thank greg for that

btw, Not trying to bash Cosworth. I apologize if my previous post came off that way. It is possible that the leak was due to initial install error, and the addition of some rtv or the like after proper reassembly will work out for me.

and it's some nice eye candy, even if it's not polished

Interesting. More info about this G please. Aside from the plenum/throttle body assembly... I noticed the custom strut bar and the two flex hoses. Is this car in another thread that I can check out?
