Default Thinking about going FI... all stock.

So I'm looking into the future, around January-ish and I wanna throw a twin turbo on my 03 350Z. I read a little bit about FI for the VQ35DE motor, and in the thread

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...ion-noobs.html

It claims that the stock motor can run up to about 400HP. I'm still not very familiar with the VQ35DE motor but I have owned a turbo'd vehicle, but my GSX came with forged internals and a stock turbo obviously, my friend put an 18g on for me for free after he took it off of his Talon so my familiarity with the installation process and 350 motor is low.

If anyone has any suggestions about what I should be doing please feel free to add your brain power. I'm a car enthusiast but I'm not very great with all of the technical and mechanical issues that come with modding a car, especially a FI kit.

After shopping around I believe that I might go with the Greddy TT kit, but you guys have more experience, so let me know what you think.

Thanks in advance, everyone is normally very helpful on these forums.

Greddy is one of the best out there when it comes to TT....JWT and APS is also top notch but cost more.

I considered the JWT when I read up on it, but it said that you would need to get it shipped and installed/tuned at a JWT certified shop and I am unaware of any certified shops in the Philadelphia area.

If you're going to do it yourself, make sure you have another vehicle to drive because if you don't have experience doing these types of installs it could take a while.

Never Mind...

You should be fine as long as the kit is installed right and TUNED by someone that knows Vq engines. If I were you Id get it tuned at MRC in NJ.. kinda far for you but a good tune is all that matters. Oh and greddy TT is a great choice. Also the new APS kit is good as well. Good luck to you. and post vids and pix once its all done.

Also the new APS kit is good as well.
The Twin or the Single, I'm still contemplating whether I should go twin or single. I don't plan on taking the car to the track unless it's just for fun, it's more for daily driving and boosting around town to make those boys in their WRX's pee their pants.

So when it comes down to it what's better from 0-80ish MPH?

The new APS TT.. comes with 3inch downpipes and external WGs... If you want to go single.. look into the Powerlab GT35R or GT37 but im sure you wont need to go that big unless you plan on building your engine. The GT35 does wonders! I myself am going with the GT37 but my goal is 600+ so..

APS Extreme Twin Turbo system, retailing for about 10grand thats quite a bit out of my price range haha. The greddy delivers performance and is in my price range so thats why I'm leaning towards that kit.

APS TT Tuner kit is a really nice value. You can be tuned and installed with a basic setup for about $10K...and super safe to 400whp.

Unlike the 4G63 or 2JZGTE world, the VQ35 doesnt lend itself to piecing your own kit together. Stick to the tried and tested kits, and goto a reputable shop for install, or at least the tuning, and you should be good to go.

Have fun!

The GT35R looks pretty nice, 395HP at 8psi, and around 7k which is a bit high but do-able.

http://www.intensepower.com/pogttukit350.html

It also look's like it comes with just about everything as opposed to the greddy which doesn't come with an intercooler system. You may have made me look into this kit over the greddy. But for some reason my head keeps telling "2 Turbo's has gotta be better than 1". Which one of these kits on a stock motor will be faster in a straight line? Both pushing around 400hp

Yeah so after reading up on the powerlabs single turbo, I'm really liking it. Apparently its not that big of a switch to the 37r, and the 1/4 times are close to the greddy twin's. So it seems like im getting the most bang for my buck, as long I dont have to deal with some huge turbo lag.
